Oops sorry, hope that haha didn't offend anyone!

Don't be ridiculous. Like Moore but he isn't suited to the modern game and the other bloke has done three ACL's. A top 10 pick, where do we sign?

Pyke is improving all the time and Currie had an outstanding year in the NEAFL so it's not as though we are out of options if Mummy goes down.
yeah obviously were not out of options if mummy goes down, but ruckmen these days are vital to a side, and seaby is an experienced ruckman who is mobile around the ground. pyke is a gun athlete but lacks the skills of seaby so yeah i think seaby is the 2nd choice ruckman in our side. not too sure why we dont play with 2 ruckmen.. most sides do i dont necessarily think its a bad thing not playing 2 ruckman but id love to know why we dont

With only 3 rotations on the bench you can't rest the 2nd ruckman like you would normally. That means the 2nd ruckman needs to play forward. Something which Seaby doesn't do well.

He actually did a reasonable job resting forward for West Coast, IIRC. I wouldn't mind seeing him get the chance. He couldn't do worse than White.

Stirring is not permitted here especially if you include GWS in the sentence. All this talk is driving me Hagrid!!

So from the AFL 2011 Record Bible - Jacob Surjan - Born 15/8/85, 179 cm from South Fremantle. Had oustanding 2009. Port Vice Captain, had knee injury and missed last 9 rounds of 2010. The prediction for 2011 was to continue his fearless and aggressive attacking role from backline. Pick 10 in Pre-season draft from WAFL and has played 100 games up till the start of this year.

Sounds like a replacement for Taigh.

Hutchy was saying on TWR tonight (8:15pm) Swans were very keen on getting Seaby trade done and probably 2nd or 3rd round pick.

So any credibility to Surjan trade or was that someone just guessing?

What the. What do we need him for? I don't think he's even been getting a regular game at Port. Scuse a sec while I look up his stats. Yep, 8 games this year. Great... We give them a first ruck, and we get some sort of on-baller that we have an abundance of (I.e not exactly quick, not extraordinary disposal) Only gets ten touches a game. Maybe he's been playing as a tagger?

Comparing seasons 2009 and 10 with this year and there has obviously something happened this year to affect his form. I think he would be far more value to us than a 3rd round pick if he can bring the pre 2011 season form out.

I thought the samething about them trading some picks for players and someone on TWR said that they don't have to trade say picks 2 and 4 for Goddard this season when they pick him up for nothing at the end of next season.

I really think the only player that GWS would want from Sydney now would be Jack and that's for the links/history and not just the football ability. However even that won't happen.

I don't mean to start another Sam Reid discussion for 2013 season. Lets give that one a miss.

they mentioned it on TWR with Barrett saying it was a rumour floating around....

with that in mind and being a shallow darft this year, rumours are Armstrong, Surjen and KOby Stevens as potential enquiries swans have made.. (still no power forward rumours though. Surely there must be a gun forward in the State leagues not yet picked up, like a 23-24 yo floating about)

As I mentioned previously he had plenty of opportunity to impress as a forward target in the NEAFL and didn't do it. No point giving him a chance when he can't do it at the reserves level.

This was actually said at about 9:30am today. I didn' t realise that TWR was on replay now. Watching repeat of Doc Martin plus the odd ear out to the talk on TWR.

So the Surjan news has come way after their thoughts.

I can highly recommend the Doc Martin series over summer.

If there is, and we wanted them, then wouldnt we have to draft them ?

Brett Peake would be more then handy !!!
