It would surprise me. Having a fractured jaw wouldn't affect your aerobic capacities. If ROK and/or Shaw plays I expect one of them to be the sub.

It's because people thought we had acquired a forward line over the off season. Three years since there was no Baz or O'Loughlin...and still no forward line.

It's going to be tough to win a premiership without one.

^ That and we hoped our disposal would have improved with all the off-season emphasis on skills. The set up/make up of, and delivery into our F50 is the obvious road block to us taking the next step. It doesnt look ( on what we've seen so far) that we've improved this. The plus side is, it is ONLY ROUND 2. Plenty of time to turn it around.

          Hypothetically..

If O'loughlin, Baz, Davis, Schneider and O'keefe were all back in the team and in 05/06 form.

Surely we'd finish top 2 this year.

            I'd be staggered.

He's either fit enough to play or he's not. If he is, he'll start in the guts where he belongs.

He had his jaw fractured only 2 weeks ago.
Less game time, particually in the frenetic early parts of the game, would at least reduce the chances of taking another knock to the head. Which is why IMO,, it wouldn't surprise if they opted to ease him back via being a sub.
But I do agree with Ugg that O'keefe as sub would make even more sense. He's versatile and needs some game time.

Shaw would be the ideal sub candidate this week (if he plays).

Is Parker definitely playing, I've got a super coach team to worry about, I need to know. Ah first world problems...

I'm not pessimistic, just not convinced we've improved. I keep thinking the Coodabeens could rework their Richmond song for us -"Sixth Again".

Spot on Al...and they hold it back cos 7 wants first chop at announcing the team. Not a WORD about who's in or out on 7 Sydney news. What a crock!

That's uncanny..it's the same on the AFL.com.au website.

Are they really fit enough O'Keefe and Shaw...I don't think so

Exactly my point, our season hasn't started yet and already we don't have a forward line and our disposal sucks. I won't be going for the panadol until I see them play against real opposition.

                              from the freo bigfooty board:

who goes to pav? grundy or lrt?
anthony doesnt take many marks up in front of him, i think mattner would be suitable
                              leaving bradley for teddy richards

i was thinking about ted on fyfe. anyone else think that could be ok?
apart from fyfe i think the only guy we need to tag is barlow, but theyre forwards are a worry, i reckon any of them could get 4 goals if we dont get the matchups right

I know its early in the season but didnt we learn anything from last season in regards to our forward line? Again we go with Lrt who is a good defender average 2nd ruck and an ordinary FF. If the focus has been on skills then we need a good lead up ff so we stop just bombing into our fwd 50, not much skill improvemed required to just bomb it in.

We have TDL and White in the reserves whats the point??? they wont develop in the reserve comp why not throw them in and let our MF and FWD get used to the patterns how each other move and lead and get things right rather than wait to round 15 whats the point?? If White and TDL are not looked at as key members of our fwd 50 by now why keep them on the list?? They wont improve playing in this reserve comp. First up game against the GWS a great oppourtunity to ease them in and build up some confidence.

So they were under done but we were playing GWS but Okeefe and Shaw come straight back in against harder opposition in Freo why? one team one rule??
Im so frustrated because I cant see us making the 4 with our current fwd structure there is no potency or x factor, Blanket Sam Reid and it looks ordinary(we need Goodes in MF)
