I'm so pleased that Jetta is showing us what he's capable of this year. Is one of those rare players that the crowd lifts whenever they go near the ball.
..And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC

A win is a win so - great day! I am looking forward to seeing a replay. My impressions of the game at the moment are limited to SEN and comments on here.

Wondering why a third quarter fade out is becoming a bit of a pattern, I was looking at the match stats for today. Disposal
stats don't tell the whole story but it was interesting to see that 10 Swans players had 11 or less disposals over the whole game (not counting the sub). Only 2 Port players. The only significance of this in relation to the 3rd qtr fade is that those in the engine room, today Hanners and Parker had over 20 disposals by half time and Kennedy wasn't far behind. They can't be expected to keep that up for 4 quarters. Maybe a few other players need to stand up in the 3rd quarter as
Goodes and Bolton and a couple of others did in the last quarter. It could be that too few are carrying too heavy a load at the moment.

At half time, Cam Mooney had Mummy, Sam and Kizza as 3 of the worst players on the ground, in regard to their effectiveness!

The match report on AFL.COM.au says that they both slid in and Goodes was slightly late. A free kick wa given and report made. Hopefully commonsense prevails. I haven't seen it but P46 has, and he said there was nothing in it. Might have an appeal to the tribunal coming up.

goodes is problem is the nab cup report means he is a repeat offender. Also lynch highlighted it and fox footy will now discuss until he gets suspended

So the strategy is to play very hard the first two quarters, then everyone take it easy in the third and start of the fourth and the come home strong for the finish! Makes perfect sense.
              In other words, tempo footy??

I think the same would be true of most clubs apart from the top two or three. Still, if we are able to control the tempo of a game, it's generally a good sign...

Yep, and they are trusting his speed by kicking it into space for him to run onto.

Giving away a 50 in your defensive 50 is unforgiveable, but I think that situation is about as close as it comes to forgiveable. He floated in front of a contest, took a mark cleanly, heard the whistle and played on quickly without having looked at the umpire. You see that sort of quick play on happen countless times in a game, if a guy floats in front of a contest where there's an infringement he usually has little idea there's a chance that whistle is for anything other than his mark.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

The SEN commentators (Bartlett, Mooney and someone else) absolutely loved him. Especially the third goal. They were going nuts when it was kicked into space in front of him and he ran on to it and goaled.

Jesse White needs to know how to use his size to advantage. Once he realise's he will command the forward line! IMO

I thought that it was one of White's better efforts. Sure he did a couple of silly things but so did 20 others. (Didn't include Everitt)

I'm very pleased that we are starting to use Jetta as he should be used. But equally pleasing is the application he is showing when he isn't on a mazy run or chasing the ball down. Jetta is working hard to apply pressure, make tackles and even a few times working hard at ground level. Long may it continue.

Indeed, I think generally our pressure around the ball carrier where possible has been really good for large parts of the games this year. We are certainly working very hard to keep the ball down front when it gets there - good to see!

Note that he hasn't been charged yet. All the report means is that the MRP will look at it and decide whether to lay a charge. The whole "reporting" process is kind of stupid since the MRP look at the whole of every game anyway. Just makes sure that stuff that happens behind play / off the ball gets looked at, I guess.

Commentator before the Essendon / Suns game (Ling?) was dismissive of the incident. Didn't think he had anything to worry about. Also, being a repeat offender doesn't have any bearing on whether you get charged or not - it only affects the severity of the penalty. Given that the minimum you can be reported for is 125 points, he'll get a week (unless he has more than about 90 carry over points).

Just home from Adelaide. Great away win against a vastly improved Port side.
It was stinking hot and we copped a few niggling injuries on the day.
