    Changes for Adelaide

After a week of stupid selection changes, in which I can only assume Longmire tanked this game to prepare for finals.

    In: Reid, Smith
    Out: Walsh, Armstrong

If Grundy suspended, then LRT plays down back, and Morton comes back in.... (for a full game).

Think it is unfair to drop Armstrong. I know he was just filling in, but I thought he was one of our best and shown before that he can do this quite regularly [Essendon game]. I agree with LRT down back and Morton back in for a full game, he kicked another bag in the ressies today.

I concur (except the part about stupid selection changes - not much Longmire can do about Reid/Smith injuries ... Just shows how important they are to us)

Armstrong could be handy at AAMI.

He showed up a few of the regular players today.

Our structure is like a finely tuned, but delicate, piece of machinery...if one or two of the regular pieces are missing, we malfunction.

Play Morton and Jetta in the forward line. Jetts needs to get more involved. he's not doing much in the midfield. Doesn't want to run anymore. Doesn't even seem to try. I wonder how many bounces he's had in the last month.

We know our forward line is hopeless, so there's no reason not to change, finals or no finals. The best chance we have to make progress in the finals is to get a couple of guys in the forward 50 who can find space, take a mark and can kick straight. It's crazy persisting in pretending that we have a forward line of tall marking forwards. The talls should lead up field, clear space for the little guys. Both Jetta and Morton are cleaver natural footballers. They know instinctively where to go to be dangerous. And that's exactly what we are lacking.

I'd say Reg will be suspended. Even with a good record it was a reckless (well intentional) punch. Maybe play Pyke down back instead of alternating in the forward line when not in the ruck. That's if they don't move LRT to the back.

Armstrong played well today (one of our best), so hoping Longmire doesn't take him out, especially since he knows the ground.

Armstrong was okay and his kicking was very good. One of the few that consistently hit a target 25 metres away. Just nowhere to put him if Smith comes in.

The Doc on channel 7 just said that Reid has Glute tear and will be VERY SURPRISED if he plays next week against Adelaide.

I heard in a radio interview that Talia's sister Jenny is getting very excited about next Saturday's game.
Nothing like a good light bulb moment.

Yep can't see Reg getting off - if it was a regular season match I'd be interested to see whether Campbell Heath would slot into the backline but it's not likely in the finals. Hopefully Reid's back as we missed a target of his calibre up forward today....

I can, insufficient force, or a week down to a reprimand, don't think Reg has any points on him
You can't argue with a sick mind - Joe Walsh

                              In Lockett
                              In Smith

                              Out Walsh
                              Out bird

Birds lack of pace will be found out at AAMI, Armstrong showed enough to stay Smith into the MF rotation. Hopefully Lockett has been walking the dogs regulary bring him back what ever shape he is in.

                              Cheers
