I think mattner had one of his better games on the weekend. He has been down a bit on form I reckon but he put himself about a bit on the weekend

And he always plays well against his old side.
He'll be the one to brave the hole in front of Walker and Tippett.Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect... MTComment

Nothing too radical, we're a good side - you don't finish third in this competition by being ordinary. Reid and Smith for Walsh and Malceski. I'd like to see Morton play but I can't see who he can get in for.Bloods

It was off the ball so will almost certainly get graded as intentional. Then it just comes down to whether the impact is deemed to be 'low' (2 weeks down to 1 with early plea and good behaviour discount) or 'below that required for a reportable offence", in which case he will get nothing.Comment

It wasn't only his beautiful kicking it was also his decision making that was such a delight! No panic passing, he seemed to find the right option time and time again.Comment

Not looking good, according to this account in The Age:
Grundy is less likely to be cleared to play next weekend because his strike, which occurred during a break in play, was clearly intentional. On the expected classification, Grundy would receive a base penalty of two matches. While he would qualify for a 25 per cent discount due to his good record that would still, even after a guilty-plea discount, leave him just above the one-match suspension threshold.

Was very confident every time he got the ball something good was about to happen.Comment

Surely it is a huge chance to be deemed 'not sufficient force'. This season is littered with slaps, forearms, jumper punches and backhanders that have all been deemed 'not sufficient force'. Some of the jumper punches have been WAY more forceful than Reg's appeared to be.
JPod, to his credit, didn't appear to do anything more than rub his chin and barely raised a protest that I could see from vision on the TV. Not sure if anybody was at the game, but they may have a different view...Driver of the Dan Hannebery bandwagon....all aboard. 4th April 09Comment

WIth our without Grundy Tippett and Mullet are a big ask.
But they're more stretched than we are up back: their talls actually have less experience than Sam Reid. The man who laughs has not yet heard the terrible newsComment

The main reason that we're currently struggling is that we have lost a lot of our outside run, mainly because opposition teams are keeping a tight rein on Jetta and Shaw. When that happens, we're obliged to fall back on the old lockdown style that hasn't worked against top teams since 2006. You have to add to that the fact that neither Goodes or Parker have been able to recapture their pre-injury form.
If Reid returns, out goes Walsh who has promise but a lot to learn. If Smith returns, Armstrong should be pushed up into the midfield where he could provide another outside run option - that would relegate Parker. (Hannebery had a poor game, but he's entitled to at least one).
If Grundy is suspended, LRT is the only option to go back, which opens a forward line vacancy for Morton.
Morton provides an x factor in a forward line which is otherwise way too predictable.Comment
