Our tall forwards are kicking bags of goals now. 8 this week. We are different team with Tippett in it. Before Tippett, nearly every time we kicked long to the forward line, it resulted in and intercept mark. Now we are taking the marks or the ball is being brought to ground giving us more opportunities to kick goals.
If a small forward had positioned themselves 3m directly behind Tippett every time the ball came in, he'd have taken about 50 chest marks by now and would be leading the Coleman....
Driver of the Dan Hannebery bandwagon....all aboard. 4th April 09
spot on annie....DA.....Annie knows swans footy...she is a great judge harsh but fair
I'll go on record saying Annie has no idea re: Tippett.
Relentlessly looking for the downside, yet will no doubt be cheering every goal he kicks - particularly in the finals. Also more than likely jeering for the behinds in an attempt to have it both ways. For someone who didnt (doesnt) want him at the club she sure has made a sizeable contribution to the post tally of this thread.
I'm actually more impressed with his second efforts and tackling than his goal kicking - was never going to be a "Plugger" for goal kicking but workrate seems to fit in very well with swans footy - its about the team not the man

Spot on I think we should also take into account his score involvements I think you would be really surprised how involved he is. Our FWD structure is tall but it is a mobile tall Tippet White Pyke and Mumford all have reasonable athleticism we are not tall and slow.
Although this might sound a little funny as they are very different players, I think Tippets inclusion is what is keeping Morton out of the side. He does basically everything Morton was doing eg. Applies pressure, can kick opportunistic goals etc, except he is a giant ad can take big contested grabs and create physical contests. I can't see Mitch getting his spot back anytime soon ( barring an injury , touch wood )
agree the 4 talls is working right now..........Goodes if he comes back fit enough will no doubt replace brandon or lamb and if so we have 5 very tough matchups rotating thru the forward line
the use of Lamb and Brandon is working.....better then expected for me

im going to make a big call and say yes I have been hoping hoping hoping that Jesse would rise again and be the player hope for.......BUT fairdinkum White and Tippett in a GF style game of bombing it long to twin towers like these boys will be very hard to defend against
Isnt it strange how life works.....sliding doors
Goodes and Reid would have still been brilliant upfront no doubt but the Tip and Jesse have started to show how hard it is to shut down guys as big as them who are that seriously mobile and 7 goals against a top 8 team.......seriously we could have witnesses our 2 key forwards looking every bit ready for a finals series !
Don't care how much someone knows footy if they're not rating what Tippett is giving us right now.
Worrying about what we're paying him should have no impact on how one feels about him as a player. We offered him that money to keep him out of the reach of opposition clubs and so far he's improving our side and has added a completely new dimension.
He's now played 6 games for 5 wins and 1 loss.
We've played 3 bottom 6 teams. 2 fighting for survival in the 8, and 1 top 8 team.
Whilst the Tippett, White, and Pyke as tall options has worked, (mostly) in these games, I'll reserve full judgement until we've played the Pies, Cats and Hawks.
I will say one thing, he does have an incredible reach.
He did it on Sunday and he did it against Port too, where he put his body in a position where it looked like he wouldn't mark the ball, then manage to stick his long arms out and awkwardly mark it.
