    Well. Wasn't he just awesome.
The delivery into the forward 50 wasn't very good on Saturday night.
Tipoff was triple manned at some stages and the ball went straight to norfs.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

So Gretel Tippett seals the Grand Final for the Firebirds after a code swap and then going faraway, beyond the Queensland border

Funny how you don't see her and Tippo at the same time. Just sayin'

I have no idea what you meant by that last sentence. But there was an interesting article about Gretel and Kurt just last week, with a photo of the two of them after the Firebirds semi-final win a week ago (see link below).
Gretel had a difficult match today and lost confidence in her goal shooting ability. But she had to take the last shot when she couldn't pass off the ball and it went through. Such a relief for her. But the ones who won the match for the Firebirds were the two defenders who saved a goal shot by the Swifts in the last 5 seconds. Shades of Leo Barry there!

Damn - your photo blows my theory out of the water, there really are two of them.

Yep, stuck at home on a drizzly day with a sick kid and washing hanging up all over the house, I was fairly cheesed off to not be able to watch the netball (a plague on you Rupert Murdoch, first you can Firefly, then this !)

I'd never thought I'd see a reference to Firefly on RWO. Happy days.

Caught the last quarter of this game - absolutely amazing live sporting action, and with such passion, skill and not a little brutality. Great stuff.

Surely Tippett would get a simple reprimand with a genuine plea of "un-coordination"?

Compared to Firritos 'should've gone to Specsavers' defence and pathetic fine, you're spot on......

Last night on Fox (On The Couch from memory) they had a list of our forwards with time spent up forward and goals scored.

It showed Tippett this year has only spent 64% of game time up forward, but still kicked 22 goals.

Clearly most of the commentators don't watch our games to see that Tippett spends considerable time in the ruck, so his goal output is quite reasonable in that context.

Personally I think that is more the problem - he has actually looked really dangerous when left forward (particularly when Buddy is moved up the field) - eg. late in the Essendon game, second half vs Fremantle etc.

Tippett's performance since coming to the Swans has been pretty close to his career norm. I think there was an expectation that he would improve, but seems to have leveled out. He was often talked up as being the next big thing in power forwards and it just hasn't materialised. As mentioned above, his goal production this year is not all that bad and is ahead of players like Tom Hawkins, Drew Petrie and Pavlich.

Unless Pyke improves this year or either Nankervis or Naismith get a run in the seniors and turn out be a revelation, we should consider using Tippett as our primary ruckman, because he does offer something more than Pyke around the ground and can go forward and kick goals. It would be like Hawthorn use David Hale.

It's interesting to see what's improved and declined, in terms of averages per game, in the 3 seasons at Sydney.

Up: handballs, hitouts, clearances, clangers, goal assists
Down: kicks, marks, goals, behinds, marks inside 50

Definitely suggests that he's doing more around the ground and less as a key forward. He's at or below Adelaide/career numbers in many areas, which is a concern.

His cost per stat would be remarkably high.

Tipoff's been suspended for a week.

                              Most expensive mistake we've made.
