Happy to keep him on the list at said reduced rate, he is worth 600K especially with the pay rise which makes him effectively a 500K player in the old language instead of a reported 880K player
That about a 45% reduction which is good business for an additional 2yrs.
I have faith he can get back to being a player of that worthComment

5000th post by the numbers.
At the Crows, Tippett kicked 188 goals from 323 scoring shots (58% accuracy) from 104 games at 1.8 goals per game.
With the Swans Kurt has kicked 130 goals from 198 scoring shots (66% accuracy) from 70 games at 1.9 goals per game.
At Adelaide Tippett averaged 7.9 hit outs per game. With Sydney Tippy has averaged 12.7.
At the Crows he averaged 1.95 tackles per game. With the Swans Tipp has averaged 2.21 tackles.
At the Crows he averaged 10.2 disposals per match. With the Swans Tippett has averaged 11.1
Apart from his body being as robust as wet tissue paper, at this point in time the numbers suggest he's actually a better player than prior to he joining us (when he's actually out there) ... &, yes, having studied statistics (or perhaps because of it) I am fully aware that stats can be made to support pretty much anything.
But a difference is, Tippoff (a nod to AnnieH) twice wanted out of the Crows. The first time the Crows threw more money at him to entice him to stay there (in such a way that it eventually cost us the first half of his first season with us). While we don't know the specific details, he seems to have essentially been willing to take a pay cut to stay longer with the Swans (perhaps see out his career with us?).
Love him or loathe him (for whatever reason) IMO Tippett seems to love the Swans and is happy to be here, he seems to have bought into the Bloods Culture. And with regards to his goal output, I for one, would like to point out that he might have missed some scoring opportunities at the expense of another handy guy lurking between 50-70m around our CHF line.
Hopefully the 6000th post with have seen the majority of the next 1000 posts about Kurt being more favourable because his body's better - allowing him to play as the player we recruited him to be.Comment

HUGE effort!!!Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

I have no problem with the longer contract at reduced pay. Still a quality player when his body is right (when will that be!)
I think Tippett's biggest issue was the weight of expectation being such a highly paid player with relatively minimal output. Now he's back in the next tier of earners expectations are also likely to decrease and hopefully he'll feel less pressured and play with more freedom (and hopefully enjoyment too)Comment

If we wanted the same sort of output (excluding games played - and we're still up on the concussion baggage he came with) ie prrforming at the same calibre that appealed to our recruiting staff when he was playing at Adelaide, Tipp looks to have marginally better output than the guy we signed - and I still think his best role is a 2 prong foil for Budd +/- Sammy.Comment
