Sydney will provide an offer that is well within the reach of what adelaide should accept.........we have to remember "nothing" is what they get if they dont accept our offer
that is not acceptable and if I was an Adelaide fan I would say the AFC are idiots to not accept the first round pick min."be tough, only when it gets tough"

In all honesty, Crows will be short changed if they accept our first pick but we don't have anything else to offer unless one of our young guns wants to go home to Melbourne or Footscray for one of their high draft picks. Does't seem any of our young guns have stuck up their hand to say I'll go back to Melbourne to break the dead lock for you.
So I think Adelaide will have to accept our first pick but be very unhappy to do so and we'll morally owe them a favour in future. Best not to draft any SA players for a few years methinks!Comment

Come on guys, take off the red and white glasses.
If Adelaide finally accept a deal, it will be pick 22 and Jesse White and even that deal is skewed in our favour. I would imagine that we are trying to get pick 13 from GWS (for our pick 22 and a players combo) to make sure the deal is done with them.
There is no way they will take our second round pick and White, it would be an insult to them and they would be well within their rights to let KT walk into the uncertainty of the ND and PSD.
If we would like to maintain our relationship with the rest of the comp as fair traders then the deal was always going to be pick 22/player or less if we can manufacture a deal with someone else for a lower pick.

First, I feel 95% sure that we could pick up Tippett in the ND with our pick 23, as no one would risk taking an uncooperative player in lieu of good prospect that is pleased to be with their club (Luke Ball situation).
From a list management perspective, the Swans would like to get Tippett plus at least one draftee that we rate as having a fairly good chance of being a 200 game player. I don't know what number in the draft that equates to. Let's say around pick 25 or better. The problem is that we are not willing to give up any premiership player, plus Rowan, McGlynn and perhaps even Everett. Additionally, we are probably not willing to part will around a half dozen of our young recent draft picks playing in the reserves. So that doesn't leave much to trade with. I figure around 6 players, with the most likely being White, TDL and Meredith.
I think we would be willing to give Adelaide whatever we can get in picks, upgrades of picks, and these fringe players, so long as we still had something like a top 25 pick at the end. I don't know if it can be done. Maybe chances will improve once the compo picks are announced.
For example, if we could trade Meredith, TDL and our pick 42 for a pick in the mid 20s, we might be willing to give Adelaide pick 23 + White. I think all the parties would be content (maybe not happy) with this sort of outcome. Whether something like this can be put together is anyone's guess. It's hard to say who will crack if it can't be done, but we are one's in the driver's seat.Comment

White, Meredith and TDL have almost no value as trades and no club would want to use three of their vacant spots on them.
Either the Crows accept unders in the form of pick 23 or they make stand for the future and send Tippett to the PSD where I doubt he'll last until our pick.Comment

I still think all 3 above mentioned players could make the 22 at Port if given the chance.Comment

It may not be all that bad for Adelaide, with the new ruck rule, Jesse could find himself a place in the ruck, good leap, not much at out bodying opposition, with the rucks seperated, he could fit the mould, as well as being very mobile and a good kickYou can't argue with a sick mind - Joe WalshComment
