Very true - listening to Terry Wallace last week, he admitted that he (and other Melbourne people) had absolutely bugger all insight into how people were playing in the NEAFL. (I guess he just has Fox Footy, not Thundervision or any of the other streaming services we've been een lucky enough to have this year).Comment

What type of bull@@@@ offer was Hawthorn trying to give us anyway? Was it a second rounder or something?
I agree, ROK is completely undersold. He was a really consistent high performing HF and his transition to the midfield has been incredible. Roosy should have relented earlier. He's got a great training attitude, is mentally very tough and you'd label him (alongside with Goodes) as the ultimate professional.
He's come a long way Ryan. I can still remember him being the young, handsome kid who wore a black armband every game to remember his brother. Now he is a vetran at the club, married with two young kids!
Anyway, back on topic I'm hoping by tomorrow we'll have some sort of indication of what were are willing to part with. The one-eyed Swans fan within me hopes its just a couple of draft picks, but the reasonable fair one thinks surely something else...Comment

Unfortunatley for the Hawks their list manager at the time Chris Pelchen (Stevie Baker on Open Mike called him "Chris Pelican !)
showed what a jerk he is and did not show any respect - deal fell through and it cost the Hawks the flag 2 weeks ago
Jolly requested a return to Melbourne (via his wife) The Pies, who we have a good trading relationship with came to the party and a deal was done
The Tippet situation is both unique and also similar. I don't want to give up too much, but I don't want to screw the crows either as we have a good relationship and past history withSeptember 24th, 2005 5.14pm
What a great moment in all of our livesComment

I thought Port looked like idiots for letting Stevens go into the draft. Look at where they are now...
You look so unprofessional, and like you have no idea how to negotiate. If I was the Adelaide CEO I would be fast losing confidence in people who were expressing there inability to negotiate.
I think it turned out pretty well for themComment

The thought of Peb in Hawkes colours tends to turn my tummy. He would have just looked like anotherHawkes midfield clone, and they had so many good players anyway they couldn't find a spot for Joey.....Roosy said he was testing the water because he wanted to go back to Melbourne for family reasons, not unreasonable. Happy enough to stay when they couldn't do a reasonable deal though.
And that's the difference. Tippet Wants Out. Peb was having a good look at where he was and decided he didn't need to go. thank heavens for us and for him.
Agree with Al though. I don't think we have seen the best of Tippett, and perhaps we could.
That's my contribution to post 996. Come on guys, you are not even Trying!!!If you've never jumped from one couch to the other to save yourself from lava then you didn't have a childhoodComment

I'm staggered at the amount of people who don't rate Tippett. The fact the Swans rate him should tell you something. I've said it before, but watch his PF against the Hawks and then imagine him at a club whose track record of getting the best out if players is second to none. Also then imagine Sammy not having to contend with the best defender each week. If that doesn't excite you then your not trying hard enough.

I suspect there is a queue of posters waiting to see #999 appear. We're nearly there! He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)Comment
