    Absolutely right.

I think everyone would agree with that and given the club's last 8 years or so, I don't think you've got too much to worrry about.

First settler money, its the dump cut out of a coin to expand the use of the coins they had available to them until another shipment came in, and used as another coinage. not worth anything. ok, so I am showing my age - deal with it.

Yeah, ok, forgot about the Ball thingy. And a few other things. But as the media says, why allow facts get in the way of a good story!!!!

Very interesting situation now for Sydney and for Adelaide with GWS expressing interest.

If GWS are genuinely interested they have picks and plenty of salary cap $ to trump us. If they really want Tippett they will get him for a high draft pick, maybe make Adelaide sweat and try to get him for pick 12 or 13 but be prepared to give pick 3.

GWS could also sweat on Adelaide not getting a deal done with us and Tippett going to the PSD where GWS will nab him for free and keep all their high picks. They will need to delist more players though to fit in Tippett and five picks 1,2,3,12 & 13. Problem for GWS will be 2014 on when Tippett is soaking up big $ and they need to pay a shed load of first round picks a whole lot more to keep them and their salary cap concession starts to move down.

Sydney can play brinkmanship to get Adelaide to take our first round pick and hope they don't ti p him into the PSD in spite.

This could go either way really. I'm not sure GWS aren't just poking the fire to cause some sparks.

I'm not even sure it's GWS poking the fire - more a journo getting yet more yardage out of this story. If the AFL wanted a 3 week trading period to stay in the news, it's working. It's ugly, but it's working....

Why would GWS give up anything of note? If they know we can't get a deal done with Adelaide (that's the only way he'll end up there), they could get him for nothing in the PSD.

No evidence that GCS and GWS will be dominant. Dees have had a lot of high draft picks, Tigers too, and the Blues???

this actually opens up opportunities for the swans where if some (any ??) players with gws aren't getting the opportunities and they are willing to stay in sydney and not return home we may be able to trade picks for players into the future.

unlike now where we have to get them to move as well as want to play for us.

If KT went to GWS we would probably try to pouch Patton or Cameron once they are out of contract. Would be a bigger coup than KT. They can't carry 3 big forwards and satisfy all. A Sydney rivalry is good for the game, but an acrimonious relationship would not go down well. It would be a dumb move on their part if they competed with us for Tippett. Their time for losing players is just around the corner.

Probably a lot of 'nudge, nudge, wink, wink' going on between clubs at the moment.

I dunno about the tuppeny dump but in 2002 a very fine fifteen pence dump coin from 1813 in the colony sold for $47,000 !!!

I think it's just Sheeds looking for some press, but also I wouldn't be surprised if there's some kind of three-way trade in the works. Thinking TDL/Everitt. Tippett wants to win a premiership, so is hardly going to think GWS is offering him that.

I liked the comment that the paperwork's all ready to go, and that would be Swans style to have it all done and dusted and let the media chat amongst themselves for another week or so.

                                Conspiracy theory No. 100342....

Major Trade Week sponsor Gillette are so delighted with the unprecedented interest in trade week this year they have asked the AFL to hold off announcing any more trades until the Friday close of trading to maximise their advertising dollar.

                                OR

Gillette have announced that Sydney will not be allowed to participate in Trade week until R.Shaw and N. Malceski actively endorse their products.
