If we trade Parker to get Tippett I will never be a swans member again surely we would not be that dumb...............in all honesty I dont want to trade Grundy either..................If we have so much spare cash lets sign our young guns up on longer term deals and give Josh Kennedy anything he wants. Let our recruiters scour OZ for a ready made tall forward from one of the many leagues around, sure to be hidden gems ready to go
Better go search for your next club to support if that's how you think. Surely, as a Swans fan you would have full faith in our recruitment teams ability. Just look at what they have managed over the last decade and a half in recruitment. A lot of excellent trades, and relatively few mistakes made.

I can't see them letting Parker go, he is a young classy player, but midfield is where we have the depth, and with Mitchell getting a full pre-season into him, will surely be pushing very hard for a place in the top 22. I'd hate Parker to go, but if the recruitment staff and whoever else involves thinks that the club is better off overall with Tippett coming, and that means we have to give something good in return, then well I'll have faith in what they think and go with that.

And if you believe every sprouted piece of rubbish on Triple MMM, then well enough said!

It wouldn't matter if we had 22 actual Swans play for us one week, I will love my club through thick and thin and it would take some catastrophic for me to throw in the towel and not support them again.

Reading back here and from my reading online it would appear Jesse plus Pick 23 it will be. Great deal for us and only possible because of the contractual clause.

I can't see any other action from us except for players that wish to further their careers in axchange for picks as you'd think KT would soak up most of our salary cap that is left. TDL, Moore and even Seaby (good 2-3 years left) could be attract some interest.
If we got Tippett for Pick 23 and Jesse going to either Adelaide, or somewhere else for a 2nd round pick, that would be an absolute steal in my book. If we manage to get him without losing a Premiership player, I think we will have done very well indeed.

          I totally agree.

However, I think the Crows will extract their pound of flesh somehow.

I agree - and all the most recent word has always been that we have salary cap space free.

Be a bit careful AG Bolts might yet retire. After all he got his premiership that he said he wanted before retiring. The other thing is that Pyke would be a walk up start after his premiership form, he was sensational. Morton will slot in next year as well because he has arrived and if he keeps up the intensity he is here to stay. Reg will have LRT to deal with next year so he will have to play very well and not stuff up as I think they will play LRT back if Tippett comes.

What with the hysteria. To secure Tippett will take our first round draft pick and a player such as Jesse White. No premiership players. No meetings of senior players. Tippett has left Adelaide and if they can't deal with us they will lose him to GWS through the PSD.

                    Tippett?

I think LRT will still play the swing man role, starting forward with Reid, Tippett and resting ruck. Goodes will make way out of the forward line and play off a wing, doing as he pleases. It's the same forward set up as this year but with Goodes out and Tippett in.

It would have been great if Bradshaw had been less broken but I'm sure that trade was about using our salary space and making minimum TPP as much as anything.

                            Tippett?

                            YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.

Check out Tippetts 2010 highlights. Great contested mark, doesn't get pushed off the ball. He will fill lrt or pykes role, probably pykes.

Unless we trade Richards or Grundy and lrt switches to the backline. If we trade Grundy still a trade off as lrt is 30 and we will need a new back men in a year or two.

We're relying on a gentlemen's agreement from 3 years ago, which would clearly have been along the lines of 'if it helps you to commit to this new contract, if you end up wanting to go home at any stage, we won't stand in your way'. After seeing out that full contract and then choosing to move elsewhere other than home, it's probably is a bit rich for Tippett and his manager to expect that the Crows honour what they think the original understanding (as opposed to specific contractual term) was.

Although it does help that GWS and GC are his options in the PSD - he's obviously not against moving to Sydney and going home would be a comfortable back-up option for him. So Adelaide can't drive too hard a bargain.

Adelaide already have picks 19 and 40 though, so with our pick 22 I can't see them wanting to stock up with other picks from late second-rounders onwards. I suspect they'd want us to work a three-way trade, either for a Hayden Jolly type, or a bigger fish they may want to now go after with the salary cap room.

It will be interesting to see where our list is at in 2 months. A significant number of depth players in their mid-20's who will continue to stagnate if they stay, but will leave a hole if we try and replace them all with 18 y/o's. Otherwise we go for recycled or state league players who are of similar quality, but might be a slightly better fit (eg. let TDL go and bring in a quick forward pocket type).

I'll say it for the 20th time, I don't know how we'll get his deal done. For once I will spew if we trade one of our young players.

I'm from Adelaide but in Qld this winter, I know the kind of hysteria that will be sweeping the town, Crows supporters have a very limited view of the AFL world and will be foaming at the mouth.

Thi is the most dangerous trade we have been involved in and I really hope the powerbrokers have kept the senior players across this and got a tick for trying to get Tippett over. Nothing like a bad deal to make the team lose trust and the cohesive bond that is so important.

Tippett can still get to "Sydney" but the Crows will get nothing if he goes into the PSD and ends up at GWS :-)

And guys, get over thinking any of the fringe players at Sydney has ANY value to other teams. There is always a tendency to over rate the value of your own players at trade time of year. Winning the flag makes them look a little better but we had a very good 22 on the day and not much after that.
