I suspect a lot of the GF team have taken off on holidays. I am sure all AFL players understand the realities of player trades, movements and payments. The players who deserve a better contract will get one when their contract ends or they next discuss their contract.

That Sydney have the cap space is expected. Some of our highest paid players Goodes and o'keefe are at the veteran stage or close to retirement. So as in 2009 we should have cap space

Crows are the biggest drama queens in the comp so this will drag out for three weeks. Would not be surprised if he ends up at GC

Going to very interesting to see how all this pans out. Can't think of anyone who we would consider tradeable that would satisfy the Crows.

Talk on this thread of Grundy and now Parker being traded is a bit scary.
Grundy is a vital cog in the best backline in the league. A backline whose 'whole' is far greater than the sum of its parts.

In any case, I can't see this being sorted until 5 minutes before the end of the trade period. I'll be watching replays of the grand final until then!

If rumours are true KT was smart enough to have a clause inserted in his contract when he resigned four years ago that he could be traded to a club of his choice at the end of the contract in exchange for a second round draft pick.

Not sure how legally binding that is but it would seem that it places us in the box seat to get this over line pretty quickly though we may have to give up a bit more than one second round pick to placate the precious little bunnies over in the city of churches. Our first round pick (23 overall) plus one player (Jesse White???) was mentioned and would be a great deal. As long as the player didn't play in the GF (or is named Ben) then I'd have no drama with that deal.

Sets up well in that we have KT as a long trerm Goodesy replacement and Tom Mitchell for Jude. Plus the development of our existing players.

Reading back here and from my reading online it would appear Jesse plus Pick 23 it will be. Great deal for us and only possible because of the contractual clause.

I can't see any other action from us except for players that wish to further their careers in axchange for picks as you'd think KT would soak up most of our salary cap that is left. TDL, Moore and even Seaby (good 2-3 years left) could be attract some interest.

looking at my best guess team I cant fit Mattner in although he is all heart and was fantastic in the GF

I wonder if he might want to settle back in Adelaide and they would like the depth for 2013/14 before retiring ?
