Reading of the reasons for Tippett choosing Sydney makes me feel a little happier - if we get him.
I agreed with Mick Malhouse's question of how come Tippett, who turned down a very good offer to stay with a very good team where he must have had very good friends, in order to go home, is now open to going elsewhere? However, if he likes the beach lifestyle and has family and friends in Sydney as well as Gold Coast, it sounds like Sydney meets those criteria, and then an offer from a team in a premiership window rather than a team in building mode would be very tempting. It also sounds like he is aware that the Bloods culture might be a challenge, though probably not how much if he is a bit 'precious'. So not quite so much a 'mercenary' as it at first appeared.
Even though it would be good to have him for team structure going forward, it seems like the cost of getting him is too high.
