Blame the AFL for that. The "Trade Festival" is a joke. When clubs had limited time, deals got done and the opportunity for speculation, rumour and innuendo was limited. Oh, for those days again.

Just my impression that in nominating us last week, it had closed a few doors of other teams. I would have thought that you would entertain offers from a number of clubs to help your bargaining position - now it appears that the Swans will probably get him for not much in terms of picks or players. I guess it doesn't matter to Kurt as long as he gets paid, but I just thought you'd look at a few clubs if your deal is not signed, sealed and delivered.

A lot of players nominate a desired destination these days and he did have an arrangement of sorts with The Crows that they would help him get to the club of his choice. The spanner was thrown into the works when he nominated us instead of The Lions or Suns.
Many Adelaide officials and supporters have made him out to be the bad guy in this whole mess and I think that's quite unfair.

I would let Tippet go. A 25 yo with a history of concussion is not worth Rohan or Parker. I would apologies to Kurt and move on.

First of all, if we get Tippett then that would be great, however there are some question marks over how he would fit into the Swans culture. In addition to this, he may be one more concussion away from the end of his career. We obviously dont want to go for short term benefit at the expense of long term pain. Because of this, I dont think we need to go too hard at him during negotiations - if it happens it happens and either outcome has a win/lose for us.
With GWS now entering the discussions, I wouldnt be at all surprised if it wasnt Adelaide that pointed the reporter in GWS direction. If GWS give up picks 2,3 or 4 for him then I believe they may be paying overs for the reasons stated above.

i dont know about the GWS thing, with any trade the player HAS to agree, he cant be just traded there against his will....so GWS can say hey we are prepared to offer this and that, but if the player doesn't want to go no trade happens..
i think there is general agreement or understanding that a player nominates a club they want to play at and no trade can be done, they go into the PSD and that club then picks them up...cause tippet can say to GWS if you want me to come there via the pSD this is my deal and he can price himself out of it with them..
