Wasn't the deal reported to be close to a million a year? $875k is generous but it's not stupid money, especially as he was already being offered $800k at Adelaide. PLus he doesn't have to do ads in a baker's hat.

I assume the $3.5m is salary and doesn't include the cost of living allowance.
The man who laughs has not yet heard the terrible news

The guy is a very good forward with a big body and rucks as well..almost certain to become a Gun forward.
These offers often seem pretty high at the time, but looked at after a couple of years simply indicate where the market is going, and appear normal.
Adelaide was paying about this amount, and doubtless would have upped it to keep him on contract if he'd wanted to stay.
The amount is not over the odds, and in fact, may appear a bargain down the track.

And now the Crows have withdrawn their top two draft picks on Thursday as a gesture of goodwill. Looks like please don't ban us from too many more drafts or as one poster on BF has said buying a bunch of flowers for the wife after being caught out in an affair..

Just as well we won the GF against the odds cos in the battle between GWS and us for KT it looks like everyone is going for GWS! All the prospective top 8 teams for next year, AD and the AFLCommission, probably both the Qld clubs, Victorian journos - no one is going to be happy if he gets to us, and even a few of 'us' are a bit iffy about it!

List management. Horse can rest Tippett for 4 games a season (vs the bottom sides or Crows - so their guys don't bully Tippett) to ensure Tippett doesn't get his $1M / season bonus - but re-sign him for a bit less (unless he misses 4 weeks with concussion)

In retrospect our offer of white, picks 20, 23 & 54 was pretty good
You don't ban those who supported your opponent, you make them wallow in their loserdom by covering your victory! You sit them in the front row. You give them a hat! Toby Ziegler

While I too always cite Mitchell as a player Carlton stole, remember, it was actually Collingwood who took him from us, Carlton got him from the Maggot-pies.
Perhaps you'd be better to list Peter Bedford as a player the Blues pilfered

With Adelaide offering to forgo crap draft picks as a "gesture of goodwill" so they can be dealt with less severely when it matters, perhaps Tippett can offer to deregister himself for a couple of months next season so as he can maybe given permission to move to his club of choice!

Absolutely. He should offer to deregister himself for December and January.

Crows are in deep @@@@ if they are already "offering" to give up draft picks.

Speaking of picks (with an added "r"), what the f is Adrian Anderson on about how this "in no way admits guilt". What else does it admit adrian?

Its either guilt, or as poor use of draft picks as Richmond.

I'd want 60 goals a season as a minimum at that money.

59 with a premiership no good?
