The interesting article on the GWS is the one accompanying the one quoted. It is entitled "Now for the Hard Yards" and quotes Steve Silvani, their recruiting manager. He says that Cameron and Patten will carry the forward responsibilities and Gyles and Brogan (if redrafted) will do the ruck duties. He says that for now, they have everything they need. In the whole article not one mention or allusion to Tippett! Lost interest of a snow job??????
Tippett!!

Just read the O'Keefe article again. Interesting how the odd letter or two can give a certain impression of what may be in the wind. In relation to Tippett and his impact on the Swans, O'Keefe uses the term "He'll be...." several times when I would have thought the term "He'd be ....." would be more in keeping with the supposed knife's-edge situation relating to his future.
A couple of other interesting observations - GWS have gone quiet, even giving out hints that they need future salary cap room for their youngsters as well as saying they "now have every thing they need" after the draft. Tippett's camp and the AFL have gone totally silent - no more mention of court action etc., even though the Wednesday FA deadline approaches. And up until now, there has not been a word spoken by a Sydney player about the possible Tippett recruitment. Suddenly ROK is talking about Tippett as if he's in the team. Am I a sucker for conspiracy theories, or do things smell of a "gentleman's agreement" whereby the courts can be kept out of things? Those who have the greatest power to hurt us are those we love.Comment

Wouldn't surprise to see after the hearing on Friday that Tippett is allowed to be delisted and come to the Swans prior to the PSD.
The AFL will spin it along the lines of 'Tippett was denied the opportunity to be delisted and move to the Swans in the normal window due to the extenuating circumstances surrounding the AFC, therefore the AFL has accepted Tippett should be now allowed to persue that option'....Driver of the Dan Hannebery bandwagon....all aboard. 4th April 09Comment

Does seem crazy for GWS given they have Patton and Cameron. Would almost guarantee they lose young talent
If we miss Tippet I assume we are likely to go a young ruck in the draft? You don't ban those who supported your opponent, you make them wallow in their loserdom by covering your victory! You sit them in the front row. You give them a hat! Toby ZieglerComment
