    Gold.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

I wonder whether the AFL should have an amnesty on 3rd party deals with reduced penalties, with MUCH harsher ones for non-declaration after the amnesty has finished?

This is a pretty good indication of the argument he will make.
Like Matimbo said, ignorance is not a defense, ever really.

Imagine getting pulled up by a police officer - "sorry officer, I had no idea that you can't overtake in the left lane - I'm only 22"
          Yep, that would work.

MAYBE he really had no idea.
I find it hard to believe that someone wouldn't know all about the deal they are on and how it came about?
KT's manager would have said "here's the deal I've got you" at the very least.

will be interesting to see how it plays out.
Based on what we all know transpired, I think he will be lucky to escape without penalty, and I doubt that penalty will be challenged or compensation sought.
My referring to his personal silence is mainly concerned with people continually calling him a d-head. And this on the basis of comments he has allegedly made.
He may well be a fool, but certainly he has not verbally indicated any thing such.

They completely dropped the ball when Judd moved to Carlton. From then on, its been a unwritten free for all.

I can just image the case against Adelaide.

AFL: "Your honour, we believe Adelaide have been making 3rd party payments to players outside the cap, blah, blah blah..:"
Judge: "Does the defence have anything to add".
            Adelaide: "Chris Judd".
            Judge: "Case dismissed".

Has there been any charge by the AFL that Tippett did not declare his 3rd party payments? If he declared them, then he should be okay on this account. The part about the AFC arranging the deal is the club's worry.

As for the Judd deal. All that was pre-cleared with the AFL, so no problems there. It looks so bad because it's so obvious that it was arranged by Carlton.

I thought the AFL had clarified that players could have 3rd party deals so long as they were declared and not arranged by the club.

And now the AFL has deferred the hearing to a date to be decided. Will this thread reach a thousand pages by the time this saga has finished. Adelaide now keep all their draft picks and it seems Tippett will be in the PSD if the AFL allow it. If they do not allow it like the National Draft where does that leave Tippett. In limbo or tied to Adelaide without a contract. I am looking forward to the Telemovie.

If they don't penalise the Crows they can't single KT out.

I don't think he could be tied to them unless they used a rope.

Afl very concerned that any penalty delivered prior to a draft may eventuate in litigation. Litigation which the aflpa would join.

Hobart was named by Lonely Planet as one of the top 10 city destinations in 2013, I assume this is in part due to the fact that the Swans will be playing there next year.

The MONA museum looks rather impressive, I must go one day!

Caro reporting today GWS interest in Tippet is waning. So seems he is likely to be a Swan.

Also reported in Papers he would be looking at 6-8 weeks

Diabolical that the AFL are letting Crows participate in the draft. Seems their supporters do not understand it is not a technical breach, it is the extreme end of a club using it's "market power" to subvert the rules.

Could the western bulldogs do this?

Geelong and Carlton will also be interesting

I never said he was a dickhead over what he has said or what he has not said, I'm going on the information gleaned from crows supporter friends who confirmed my original suspicions!! Consensus was he's a dickhead.
