Yep, either that or the kids spilt the paint box.
Bloody ugly, the Crows now have the two ugliest guernseys in the comp. Much prefer the single Crow.

Jon Ralph on SEN said he now thinks KT will go to Sydney. (He has always said GWS) Says for the first time GWS are making noises about the cost etc., and he believes they are thinking that it's a lot of money for a bloke who won't even talk to them - all too hard.

Reminds me of "Oh Mr Hart, what a mess". I don't think modern art and footy are a good combination. Very ugly.

and the AFL have given him extra time to nominate his salary and contract terms. Looks to me like the AFL don't want it ending up in court so are being a bit accommodating now.

Interesting that GWS are now talking about asking players to take less than market salary in the future to ensure the group stays together. They also have a lot of KPPs already on their books, taking Tippett will just mean they lose some of those younger ones quicker than they expect if there is no opportunity for them. Patton and Cameron look the two KPF and Davis and Mohr the two KPD, Tippett would need to fit somewhere?

I'm thinking all these developments means Tippett is heading our way with lowly pick 9 in the PSD.

By my reckoning the PSD draft currently looks like 1 GWS, 2 WB, 3 Port (Prismall?) , 4 Wretchmond (some spud), 5 Essendon (Dayle Garlett?), 6 Carlton, 7 St.Kilda, 8 Collingwood, 9 Sydney, 10 GWS etc

A couple of other interesting observations - GWS have gone quiet, even giving out hints that they need future salary cap room for their youngsters as well as saying they "now have every thing they need" after the draft. Tippett's camp and the AFL have gone totally silent - no more mention of court action etc., even though the Wednesday FA deadline approaches. And up until now, there has not been a word spoken by a Sydney player about the possible Tippett recruitment. Suddenly ROK is talking about Tippett as if he's in the team. Am I a sucker for conspiracy theories, or do things smell of a "gentleman's agreement" whereby the courts can be kept out of things?
I think you are correct. The AFL will avoid court at all costs - so there will be a wink and a nod, Tippett will get to the Swans but he may have to serve a few weeks to keep up the appearance that you cant mess with them and get away with it. They can do whatever they like to AFC who will not fight it. Then it will be on to redefine what tanking means.

"As Fairfax Media revealed last week, Tippett has been offered a $3.55 four-year offer to join the Swans, and will earn another $975,000 in seasons 2017 and 2018 if he plays a minimum 20 games in each of his first four years at the club.

So if the most a player can play is 26 games (all rounds + 4 weeks of finals), if the AFL hands down a suspension of 7 weeks or more those extra seasons are just pointless additions? I wonder how any potential AFL suspension from the current dramas is written into the contract?
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Of course it would be good to get a player of Tippet's potential. The problems I see is fitting him into our game plan and the Bloods ethos. So many 1/2 backs in the AFL are scorching rebound players he will need to be accountable for his man and risk concussion doing the rough stuff inside like everybody else. I see him as a rival to Mike Pyke . Could we have Tippet ,Mummy and Mike all in the same very tall team? His selection, which I am now starting to get interested in because at last it seems possible, will change our forward style.

And that is OK. The forward structure, performance and efficiency has been correctly identified as the weakest link in the chain. Tippett does offer good potential for improvement (which will be required to go back-to-back) and now is a good time for change (when we have a premiership-winning fall-back position).

I'm with a previous poster. If Jude's all-for-it, he is a good enough barometer for me that the rest of the team is OK about it and that nullifies any doubts I may have had.

I think this was meant to limit the amount of suspension the AFL could hand down, because it could be viewed as a limitation on Tippett's employment opportunities, which would not go down well if taken to court. So raises the stakes for the AFL. A cleaver tactic by the Tippett side.

I agree. Our forward line was often described here on RWO as being dysfunctional for much of the year- but towards the end with LRT, Pyke/Mummy and Goodes rotating through and Reid moving up the ground, it seemed to come together and work pretty well for the finals. The main feature to me was the role of the mids running forward and kicking the goals. You would think with KT on board and with Morton playing a role and later on Membrey working together with them and Reid, the reliance on the mids for goals is not going to be so great.

Interesting to see how the game plan for 2013 is going to evolve. To stay on top we have got to keep the opposition guessing (I loved James Hird's comment that 'that is not the way the Swans play' when we were thumping the Bombers) so it should be fun! However it will depend a bit on whether KT actually becomes a Swan!!

I agree with a lot of what's said above. Our forward setup was often dysfunctional, but it worked brilliantly in the finals with the ball slingshotting out of the backline and usually end up with a midfielder in front of goal. Would love to see Tippett in our forward line and hope we can keep our unpredictability.

I suspect most of the stuff attributed to Tippett - in particular that in August he committed to the Gold Coast - is more due to his dad and manager than himself. Allowing him to delist is the only fair outcome. Let the AFL deal with the Crows and his management over their dodgy dealings.
