    Tippett?

Rojo, all our main rivals are trading astutely to strengthen the weaknesses in their respective lists. We had a fantastic year, and have an outstanding group, but can we afford to stand still while all the other teams hoping to contend are attempting to improve? I don't think so. I wasn't sold on Tippet at first, mainly for the price and what we may have to give up, but the more i think about it, the More I like it. Whether or not he stars every game is irrelevant, he is the best available forward and he will at the very least make life a lot easier for Reid and or LRT, Pyke etc by taking the number one defender and probably the double team. And if any team has the track record for extracting everyone of potential from a player, it's us. Even if you don't rate him now, Tippett has potential by the bucket load. If he buys into the Bloods culture, who knows how good he may be.

Yep, couldn't agree more. Someone said about 345,678 posts ago in this thread that if you stand still in this game you'll get left behind. We aren't the best team in the competition because we sat on our hands.

I also wasnt keen on Tippett because of what it may cost us to get him here, $ and potential damage to team harmony but I've come around.

Tippett has the makings of a super FF and I don't think he has ever been really happy at Adelaide (I live there). Sydney will get the best out of him, he is 202cm, agile and takes a great grab, a nightmare match up.

This is all about creating a forward line that oppositions can't quell. How do you cover the height and marking power of Tippett, Reid, Pyke and Goodes? All of these guys are also quickish and agile. Hawthorn didn't trade for Lake for no reason!

Let the trade go ahead please.

Rojo, have you gone stark raving mad. Walsh better than Tippett? Surely your gagging. Walsh will not make it. What I have seen of him is seconds footy. Morton before Walsh any day of the week, weekends, christmas and new year's day, bank holidays and buddha celebration days etc.etc.

This. I haven't seen any footy smarts from walsh to make it. Harsh but true.
LRT. Lord Roberts-Thompson. He may look like the Munster, but looks can be deceiving.

I really think Walsh is a backman. Many will jeer at that but that is what I think. Every time he has been put down there in the Two's he plays pretty well. I would like to see him tried there next year, full back CHB. There is no way you can compare Walsh to Tippett. Tippett is a seasoned Full Forward and Walsh is only just learning our game.

If we do secure Tippett I'm sure they will try and do that. Walsh's got more opportunities available in the backline given quite a few are in or reaching their 30s.

Very glad the Mitchell rumour was scotched. Where do they get this BS from? Barrett was claiming it was a 90% done deal!!!

If you want a laugh, read the Adelaide Bigfooty thread on Tippett, especially the posts from 6th October onwards when Tippett announces the Swans as his desired club.

They are not only foaming at the mouth about the whole scenario but put up unbelievably stupid logic. A whole host of them say Tippett was rubbish anyway as a player, never made their top 10 B&F, can't kick and he is no loss then immediately believe he is worth a minimum two quality Swans players in return! And I have to live in Adelaide with these brain dead Crows supporters - sheesh!

Barrett believes 90% of what he reads on twitter.

So if we get him, do we give Tippett number 1 or number 33 I wonder.

Happy that Mitchell and Grundy have been ruled out. That makes 22 + Parker or 22 + Giles via a three-way trade look more likely, which I'm happy with.

Might be 26 if Parker gets traded to a Melbourne club for a higher draft pick!
