What a jerk. Seriously AFC need to show a little bit of respect for a guy that put in for them over several years and nearly got hem into a grand final. It is not as though he didn't give them any notice of his intentions prior to signing his last contract with them.
I wonder what will happen to the next Adelaide bloke who asks for a trade.

When we've traded in the past with Adelaide they have done well ie Peter Caven and Scott Stevens.
We also did Lewis Johnston for Tony Armstrong with them last year.

Supporters getting nasty are one thing, but I am amazed by some of the nasty comments being attributed to Adelaide football club officials towards Tippett.
Liz was the ROK situation different ?

ie Ryan was not happy and the Swans didnt appear to be either a few years back before he signed on again ?

Well no one knows the real circumstances except what we read in the news.

It wasn't bad enough for ROK to walk out and Swans were prepared to help him go. He wouldn't have re-signed if he wasn't happy and it probably got him a pay rise.

So very different to now. Adelaide has lost quite a few quality players. They wouldn't have left if everything was fine.

          Did I sound like Liz????????

Adelaide have the @@@@s because we now have 2 of their good kids. Worse still, they are being raped by all and sundry, (bock, Davis).

They are scared, days are gone for draft allowing time. Unless they are home boys, who want to stick. They leave. In some ways it's sad, most SA junior footballers don't stay in their home state

ROK was keen to get back to Melbourne IF a decent deal could be found.
No decent deal could be found so he was quite happy to re-sign with the swans.

I'm guessing he's pretty happy with that decision right about now!!

Very true - listening to Terry Wallace last week, he admitted that he (and other Melbourne people) had absolutely bugger all insight into how people were playing in the NEAFL. (I guess he just has Fox Footy, not Thundervision or any of the other streaming services we've been een lucky enough to have this year).

And from what I've seen I'd say we're in front on that deal.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Possibly one of the most underrated footballers in the league by list managers.

                        Tippett?

ROK is my favourite "old" player, not just cos of his duck bum but because of his elite running ability, kicking accuracy and ability to get in there and do some grunt work. Can't believe how much he flies under the AFL media radar!

What type of bull@@@@ offer was Hawthorn trying to give us anyway? Was it a second rounder or something?

I agree, ROK is completely undersold. He was a really consistent high performing HF and his transition to the midfield has been incredible. Roosy should have relented earlier. He's got a great training attitude, is mentally very tough and you'd label him (alongside with Goodes) as the ultimate professional.

He's come a long way Ryan. I can still remember him being the young, handsome kid who wore a black armband every game to remember his brother. Now he is a vetran at the club, married with two young kids!

Anyway, back on topic I'm hoping by tomorrow we'll have some sort of indication of what were are willing to part with. The one-eyed Swans fan within me hopes its just a couple of draft picks, but the reasonable fair one thinks surely something else...

Anyone reckon TDL, Everitt or the Big Jesse would warrant a club giving up a draft pick?

I think we just stick to our guns. Surely Adelaide aren't serious about letting him go for nothing when we can give them pick 23 and maybe a fringe first teamer or two. Just call their bluff Horse

I think KT would be a good pick up but I won't be shattered if we don't get him as there is a lot to be said for promoting from within and talent banking. If we don't get him I would try and tie up some of our talent to some front ended contracts to soak up the salary cap we obviously have. That should allow us to be a big player next year when free agency really starts to come into it's own.

It may actually be a blessing in disguise if we don't get him.

                              Tippett?

I'm staggered at the amount of people who don't rate Tippett. The fact the Swans rate him should tell you something. I've said it before, but watch his PF against the Hawks and then imagine him at a club whose track record of getting the best out if players is second to none. Also then imagine Sammy not having to contend with the best defender each week. If that doesn't excite you then your not trying hard enough.
..And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC

Can't agree with that one. Johnston has progressed very nicely for them in the SANFL. Finished the year as the second highest goal kicker in the league. Looking very promising s a KPP which Armstrong will never be
