Sorry if this has been posted http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/sport/...-1226498133764 I think the deal will be Jesse andrnd 22 probably wrote on this link about 1235475 posts ago. Interesting couple of stories lately how Hawkins improvement has been linked to his move away from 2nd ruck duties, I think we will see similar improvement in Dawes next season with melb to play him solely as a Key forward. I did post this earlier but I think this has been the issue with Jesse as well, watching video of him playing 2010? he was marking crashing packs and kicking goals as well as any vision I have seen of Tippett.

Time will tell but i think bad call on Jesse development last 2 years and when we look at other teams many of the fwds they tried to turn into 2nd rucks have failed to combine both roles with hawkins Dawes and White just 3 easy ones that come to mind. This was probably a misjudgement by coaching staff in the early reaction to the sub rule and how to play ruckmen in the modern game. I would throw this one out there though "if" mumford was at 2011 fitness levels i.e. ruck 80% of game time would Pyke have played as many games or would we have used LRT as 2nd ruck on more occasions?

    Cheers

It's pretty certain now that it's pick 22 + Whitey. Good luck to whitey, I seriously hope he reinvigorates himself at the crows. He's never rubbished the club and he'll always leave with a bit of bloods in his blood. I'm getting very excited about 2013 already. A big monster to take the best defender off Reidy.

If we get Tippett, I sense Reidy is going to have a very big year.

Am I the only person that thinks swapping White for Tippett is simply getting a very similar player but paying more for him? Won't we have egg on our face if White becomes a gun player at Adelaide and Tippett bombs out? Seems like it could come back to bite us, especially as I also think that it was playing in the ruck that ruined White and Dawes and Roughead and maybe even Tippett.

I thought the same thing, however Tippett can be a monster. Playing out of the goal square with the other defenders taking Goodesy and Reid I think he will thrive. Especially on the small SCG ground aswell.

An interesting interview with White here saying he thinks he's improved a lot this year. The Swans team was pretty difficult to break into, especially with Pyke and LRT ahead of him so it might well be true.

But he's a ruckman-forward, which is the flavour right now, and he's really strong and athletic, so even if he's not in the first 22 he's a handy player to have in a club. A move to AAMI might be the making of him*. And he certainly fills the rucking forward ex-basketballer from the Gold Coast gap left by Tippett.

Talking to a crows fan yesterday about how much they hate Tippett it occurred to me that he and the club have been unhappy for many years and he has not had his heart and soul invested in the club. If you saw him against hawthorn in the qf you would have been impressed. I think he would be great for us if he brings his a game and buys into our culture. I am becoming increasingly missed off at crows people who tell us Tippett is a joke and then whinge when Sydney wont cough up half its team in return for KT. We get no credit for our skills at trading and turning discards into premiership players. For once I would like swans to drop the nice guy persona and give Adelaide and all the whinging loser fans at the Melbourne clubs the finger. So many of them live on life support from the afl made possible by the television money which is the size it is because the swans play in Australia's biggest market Sydney. Without the money Sydney generates they wld be history.

That is an issue, he only came good for Adelaide when they let him play deep, and stopped trying to play him further up the ground away from the square.
How certain are you about his suitability to the SCG? Certainly it's a playground for powerfully built forwards that lead quickly, but physically Tippett looks more like Fitzy than Tony to me.

Imagine if Tippett has to retire in a year because of head injuries, and white goes on to play 100 games for the crows.

But we would be getting a player, that at least intermmitently has proven at the AFL level that he is more than good enough. Jesse has not done that.

Also I'm far from convinced we will play Tippett in the ruck - I'm not sure how the ruck situation will fall. But if you gave me a choice of a forward line with Reid at CHF and Tippett out of the goal square, vs for Reid at CHF and White out of the goal square, at this stage, it is asbolutely no contest at all.

Expect a big year from Sammy Reid next year. Tippett will take a key defender, and with the menace of Goodes around, it is going to make life for big Sam a lot easier. Pyke, Mumford and LRT are more than useful up forward, but they aren't in the same class as a forward as Tippett.

I have little doubt the change of scenery will do Tippett the world of good, and on his day he is an excellent forward. I think he and Reid will form a lethal partnership and will do very well playing together.

We can all go on and postulate about whether White might finally click at Adelaide, Tippett fails at Sydney etc etc etc. But I think anyone that has watched enough of the games that Jesse has played, and seen what Tippett can do, then probably 99 times out of 100 you'd snap their fingers off to make the trade.

My guess is it'll be White + our first rounder for Tippett and a swap of 2nd round picks.

I would LOVE Jesse to be wildly successful in Adelaide. I really would. He could be a hero there, and Adelaide would think they had one over us. But he would know and we would know that he blew it here, and this is his best chance to really make his mark.

We have all seen glimpses of a very good footballer and that handball he belted at serious pace after hitting the ground I will never forget. Its all there, but as we all know aaaaggghhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!! Soooo frustrating. So if it comes off this may really be a win/win for everyone.

And on a plus side for Adelaide they would also get a bloke who enjoys his teammates' success. Something that has endeared him to us for some time now.

Weirdly somehow I do not think Tippett would get so many head injuries if he was playing in a different environment. Just a private thought on that. If you are not happy you get injured more and more.

Not sure if this is the same as the other article posted but this from the Swans website apparently drafted by a bitter twisted Crows supporter!

Tippett will be reunited with the family in Sydney that we only recently discovered he had, while in return, Adelaide will receive Sydney's first-round draft selection, expected to be about pick 21 or 22 and White, the 24-year-old, 196cm key forward who played just three games for the Swans in 2012 and was not close to selection during the finals.
