True, but he didn't have a lot of oportunities. Admittedly Buddy made the most of his, & Buddy's oportunitirs were further afield. Not a lot of deep ball for Tip

Agree, Tippett was one of the few we could name in the best in 2014 GF.

I don't think anyone is doubting Tippett is a good player
The main doubt is that is he a reportedly 900K player ? Absolutely not.
We should hit him up for a renegotiated 4yr 2.2m deal he can ride off into the sunset on. If he doesn't take it, he is up for trade

I assume by "absolutely not" you mean he is not worth $900K per season. I agree so far.

But there is still the question, as others have pointed out, that any sum we attribute to Tippett is fantasy. And I agree with AuntieG et al that this is a most unlikely figure. A fit Tippett is, IMO, among the best ruck/forwards in the comp.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

If we make it to the G.F. next year, and Buddy gets injured, what would you expect of Tippett?

Interesting question. If you mean Buddy gets injured before the match I'd expect Tippo to spend most of his time in the ruck with spells "resting forward", and I'd hope that a fit and firing Sam Reid would also be down front. In this case we might think of brining Nanka in.

If you mean Buddy gets injured during the match, as he did this year and was even worse for us than the umpiring (not his fault of course, he kept trying as hard as he could!), I'd like to see Tippo down front more and share the ruck around a bit with the likes of Aliir.

We could always just copy the bulldogs strategy in such a circumstance and just rely on a third man up approach - worked pretty well on grand final day for them.

Well there has sure been a change in attitude towards Kurt from Annie since the start of this thread.

I still fall all about in a heap when he gets injured... which is at least once a year.
                              He's made of plastic.
Last night he had about 20 stitches above his eye... bloody Ansett Cup... I don't like to see them injured.
He is a lovely person and an absolute gentleman. I have a deep respect of this.
