..and didn't even get a free kick. Looked a classic tunneling from my vantage point.

Sam Reid back on the track running. That is far earlier than expected. the twinge was possibly because he told a porky when they asked him the vital question "how does the leg feel?" "Yeah fine, good as gold." Young players often do this even if they have a twinge, they think nothing of it. I am not saying this happened but it is a possibility. But the main thing is he is now running again and should be back with the main group soon.

And good to hear BIG Sam Naismith is back training. It will be a great story if he ever plays seniors.

Shaw named in squad for WB. Good news, although I'd be very careful messing with our winning formula for the hell of it.

According to John Longmire today, Goodes a month away, LRT at least a month away, Jetta a month away, Rohan went well in reserves yesterday, didn't hear what he said about Sam

Longmire said injured trio Sam Reid (quadriceps), Adam Goodes (knee) and Lewis Jetta (shin) were still 3-4 weeks away from returning.

"Reidy's running really well, he ran well last week, he ran well this week. But he's had two quads and we need to be reasonably conservative with him," Longmire said.

"Goodesy will be running outside this week and so is Jetta.

Sydney Swans defender Alex Johnson has undergone a second reconstruction on his injured right knee.

The 21-year-old, who suffered a setback last month when it was revealed the graft from his first reconstruction did not take, underwent hybrid-LARS surgery on his anterior cruciate ligament on Monday morning.

Swans physiotherapist Matt Cameron confirmed that the young defender?s second surgery was a success.

?He had what is called a hybrid-LARS technique, so he?s had a LARS as well as a hamstring graft put alongside the graft he already has in there,? Cameron told SwansTV.

?He?s got a fairly solid cruciate reconstruction and we?re hoping to have a really good run from here.?

Matt Cameron actually made two jokes in the injury update - one to open the conversation and the other as a grand finale. Talk about stage craft.

It's great news that they didn't have to 'undo' AJs first surgery, but managed to rebuild the first one. I wonder if they removed the previous graft. It's a bit of a novelty surgery, with part cadaver, part synthetic. I hope it works. If it does, he'll be part bionic part 'dead man walking'. Will be great to have him back for round one next year.

Amazing! Watching Matt Cameron's deadpan 'he's got two broken arms and a sprained ankle but he's up and running' is usually Tuesday's highlight for me. Didn't think he was capable of making jokes!

And I for one think Tanya Paolucci's interviewing has improved immensely this year. She is now very confident and interesting to listen to.
