I'm still pinching myself a bit after that. Pies were poor, no doubt, but take nothing away from how well the Swans swarmed around the ball at every stoppage, how hard they ran into space, and how well they used the ball. I was worried for a while that the poor conversion would come back to bite them, but fortunately the Pies just had no answers.

It's a long time since I've seen Swan (the Dane variety) play so poorly.

      Extraordinary performance tonight.

WINNING STREAK AGAINST THE PIES EXTENDS TO 2

Add the fact the Wests Tigers snapped a 1000 game losing streak and it's been a superb night. Will make the trip down the Hume to watch the Ressies tomorrow rather pleasant.
..And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC

        W.O.W.

        Sublime Adam Goodes.

Someone tell him he's an old man.

The incident has me gobsmacked. You don't talk like that to a dual brownlow medalist... I'm glad she'll be dealt with (and be even happier if she was dealt with by the media).
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

Blotted out by another Bird, five touches to half time, resulting in four clangers, according to The Age.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Eddie Everywhere says she's a minor and the incident is in the hands of the police.... love the way they bring them up in Collingwood.

It scares me that someone that young can racially vilify (allegedly) someone. Don't they teach them to be tolerant at school? (They certainly don't teach them the "three r's".)

            That makes it interesting.

Agree with others about Eddie - total class tonight with how he handled the situation.

LOL, that Tigers game cost me a win in the footy tipping. *sigh*

                    Gosh we were good tonight.

One of the things that struck me and impressed me was the number of kicks off the non-preferred foot that hit targets. Showed that we really were on tonight. Best we've been since last September.....

Just got back from evensong at the "cathedral" I will put in my two cents before I read the thread !

Best moment : Jude chasing down Maxwell and converting the free kick after the siren.

Most reassuring point : how well our back six played . I felt that'd be our achilles heel , that we could not continue to cover for missing first-choice defenders and that we'd get roasted. Wrong ! Some of Reg's kicking was , well , Reg-esque , but he was ok. Rampe was surprisingly composed and Nick Smith was unsurprisingly composed - both played well.

Goodes and Hannebery were terrific , McVeigh had a strong game , Benny was a little terrier , Jetta is becoming ever more disciplined and team-oriented , Sam Reid is becoming better at pressuring opponents , ROK laid 14 tackles. Even some of our lesser lights did some good stuff - eg Android smothering Swan's shot (and it looked like it hurt him !).

We should have kicked for goal a bit straighter . At times I was unsure if some kicks were bad missed shots for goal or bad passes.
Not sure how we lost the inside-50 count by nine : I'd guess it's because the Pies stepped up in the last quarter.
It certainly didn't feel like we lost it !

Still , we have beaten a good side , on their own patch, by a sizeable margin and I believe there is even better to come.
I know the Pies were below par , but from where I watched ,we had to work hard to win . The AFL website's reference to our win as a "stroll" is an insult - to both teams.

Anyway , congrats to the lads on our best all-round team performance of the season to date !

Yes they do: Rorting, Rooting and Racism. And they learn them well.

Don't mean to be glum, but in defence of the Pies supporters who were in the same bay, they were also upset about the incident. We were right behind the goals in Great Southern Stand and when that young lady was escorted away, the whole bay (which was 70% pies) was booing and showing how unhappy they were with the whole thing.

Great win Great night. Waving goodbye to the ferals supporters was fun.It was good to hear the Sydney chant at a pies game for a change.

Loved the game. Birdy, sorry for calling you fat last week - all forgiven. It was such a team performance. Goodes was magnificent. A memorable game for many reasons.
He had observed that people who did lie were, on the whole, more resourceful and ambitious and successful than people who did not lie.
