How could the Swans lose to Cats and Hawks late in the home and away , yet still be a chance for the flag??
Clutching at straws , as I try to find a precedent for that

I find it strange too. Media are even worse (though that's to be expected). In one breath they say Sydney are the team to beat, and then the next they just assume Sydney will lose to both Geelong and the Hawks.

Sportal are saying exactly the same thing this year as last year on their 'run home' page. Every week its 'played well, but have a tough run and will most likely drop both their last 2 games to miss the 4.' Said that last season, and we know how that turned out.

Big result for us last night - now just need Carlton especially to do us a favour as well. If they could somehow knock off the Dockers, we really would be sitting pretty if we beat the Dogs tomorrow

I almost got on the 'Freo recognition' bandwagon, but then decided not to. They're a one-trick pony, and when it doesn't work exactly as planned, they've got nothing.

It's that time of year where you forget about deriding all the teams you hate and start willing on any team who can benefit the Swans. I actually barracked for Adelaide the other day. Afterwards I woke up on the floor, covered in sweat, swaying in a foetal position, shivvering and ashamed.

Underrate that trick at your peril. Freo could be quite dangerous come September.

Another bonus of last nights win is the added motivation it should give carlton as they will want to keep a game clear of north if the bombers lose their points.

Come Geelong, Gaz might be close. Would cause a few flutters!
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Would make life very interesting if Richmond got up.

Torn between the desire to hear the Hawks go down and the joy of listening to Tadhg covering the Giants game.

That's why we have iPads! Two games at the same time!

When's the last time all the teams lower on the ladder beat the teams higher on the ladder in the same round? I hope we're the only team to buck the trend but it's heading that way so far for this round ...

Top 4 likelihood...much greater now the Cats and the Hawks have both been knocked off. Love it. Top spot not out of the question now.

The main thing is that our boys come out tomorrow and get the job done. It is potentially a banana skin, but the ladder has opened up very nicely for us, and if we get the job done tomorrow, then we have put our destiny in our own hands. Indeed, we now are potentially every chance if we play well to finish on top of the ladder!

Richmond have given Hawthorn a big hiding by the looks of it.

Something similar happened last year and on that particular weekend Swans were the only top team to win... Hazy memories.
