I'm as surprised as some of you guys re Longmire revealing to Lyon that Tippett won't play from so early in the week. You'd think that he'd have him in the side until and hour before gametime and then activate an emergency.

Unless.......Tippett is playing? No, I don't think so either. So it's a strange move. Unless.......no. No?

Perhaps it's a very misplaced sense of sportsmanship.

Yes it doesn't make any sense to me unless he is slotted in at the 12th hour. Which I don't think he will be.

Is there really much point keeping it under wraps for a day or two? The Swans fly out to Perth tomorrow. So unless they were planning to fly a 202cm player who needs to do lots of rehab to give himself a chance of coming up for the GF, were the Swans to make it, in a Virgin plane to the other side of the country just to fool a coach (who probably isn't that easy to fool), what is the point in pretending on Monday that he might play?

This is a list of player profile from last week game that are in the running for selection this week.

I am going to leave it up to you guys to select the team to take on freo this week.

i have sum up the player current form from last week reserve finial match.

All we need to do is come up with a balanced team.

Remember we need a balance side that is not as predictable to take on freo this week, its not all about one strength like speed but about team balance.

Player profiles from last week game.

Player . Roberts-Thomson showed his skills early in the quarter when he kept the ball inside the boundary line, stepped around his opponent and handballed to Membrey, who added the finishing touch with a sensational snap on goal

Positives. Big body player that can keep the ball
In the forward line and bring others players into the game.
              Positives
              Speed. Strong in the air.
              Finials: played 8 plus
              Negatives. Not match fit.
LRT was then retired out of the match after 80 minutes on field for the Swans reserves, in what was an encouraging return to the field for the big man.

Player. Towers put in his entry for goal of the year just inside forward 50 for the Swans, but his efforts were marred by his attempt to play on, which saw him caught holding the ball.
Towers again showed off his blistering speed in the last and set up Membrey for his third goal of the match, while crowd favourite Roberts-Thomson capped off his long-awaited return with his second goal of the match from 30 metre out on the angle.
Positives. Fast , can kick a long goal
              Speed . fast

Dan Robinson gave the Swans reserves a 34-point lead at the final change after keeping the Magpies to just one goal in the third term.
              Positives fast, no injured

Players Lamb?s silky skills were also on show in the final term, while top up player Thomas Head should be earmarked as a player of the future following a terrific contested mark in the goal square, which he topped off with a goal.
Positives fast, kicks goals, can play in the centre. Has finials experience this year.

              Player Rohan
Positives fast, can kick a long goals, play on wings or forward and can play back if needed.
Has not kick allot of goals yet but can kick them in a short space of time.
              finials.
Has played in this years final series.

              Player. Membrey
              Positive
Membrey kicks third goal of the match. He knows how to kick goals and is a natural forward like Mortan.
finials. Has not played in this years final series.

              player. Ben McGlenn.
              Positive
He knows how to a kick goals and can play in the centre but has missed games of late.
finials. Has played in this years final series.

              Player. B Jack
Fast, has played games in current finial series.

              Good luck
OK now it up to us to pick the team?

Its just bit of fun as we travel over to Perth this week.

Taking a risk with some of these reserves players could be worthwhile. It does worry me when they ask Jude Bolton about the last quarter (we did not score) and he said most of the players were flat out on their feet due to tiredness. 7 days to recover, but is that going to be enough?? Somehow I doubt it.

Yeah I guess. That is a good point. Still, teams always seek to get any advantage they can. 2-3 days of question marks could be a 1%er. It's not a big deal, just surprised me how honest Longmire was from the very first PF presser.

I saw Kurt in a shopping mall yesterday and he was on crutches. So pretending he was going to be right for this w/e would have taken a lot of bluffing.

I just watched the reserves replay as well. There is some real talent in our squad.

Towers is seriously quick and has a tremendous leap. You can see why we took him as our 1st pick last year. Hard to know how he would adjust to playing in PF as a first game. Is still a work in progress thought. But would take him over Rohan if we were looking for additional speed.

Mathew Dick is also very quick and a good size. If we can improve his decision making, he could be something.

Alex Brown is another speedy and skillful tall player and looks very likely to make the big time.

Naismith is easily quicker than Mummy or Pykey and is very agile for such a big man.

Jake Lloyd can walk up and play senior footy now. He has the footy brain of a 300 game veteran. He does everything instinctively well and has the look of a future captain. You can see why he won the coaches award for best TAC player. Cannot believe we got him as a rookie.

Based on performance, Tony Armstrong deserves another shot in the seniors. He's constantly on the move and has excellent skills. You can see that he's worked on his tackling while in the ressies. I would play him before Biggs, or make Biggs the sub. Although we are all pleased with how well Biggs has played in his 2 games, Armstrong's added experience would be a bonus. I'd play him before Lamb as well.

                        Don't agree.

Based on what I've seen of him in the seniors, he doesn't handle pressure, is weak in the contest, can't tackle....Against, of all teams, Freo...No thanks.

I thought he played well against Essendon and Geelong last year in tight games. Having said that, his senior appearances this year have been fairly underwhelming.

I also thought that his senior performances were patchy at best, but I was judging on how he played on Sunday in the NEAFL game. I think he got 41 possessions and was deservedly voted BOG. Hard to say if it translates to senior level, but he was doing all the right things. I am certain he's been working on his weaknesses all these weeks he has been out of the seniors and perhaps it's paid off.

He wouldn't be the first to improve form by going back to the ressies.

So if the team can produce a miracle win this weekend, it's not looking promising for Kurt to play in the GF.

Bear in mind that they'd played more than 3/4 of the game with only two players on the bench, and that Jetta, as sub, probably wouldn't have been able to take his 'fair share' of time on the ground, given his limited preparation (and the expectation he'd only have been called upon after half time). Plus the side really put their foot down in the 3rd quarter and ran Carlton ragged, resulting in the 50 point margin they enjoyed at 3/4 time. So they were entitled to feel a little weary in the final quarter.
