Jesse White wants to move to Melbourne to further his fashion business! Melbourne is the best working environment in Australia for aspiring fashion entrepreneurs, and Jesse wants to be part of that! In 20 years time the name Jesse White won't be known as an ex Swans or Collingwood forward, but as an international fashion superstar who was macho enough to play an elite contact sport!

As for Nick Smith he has not made any definitive statement about playing in Melbourne and Ill wait to he or his manager makes some public comments on the matter!

I have a feeling that Collingwood's compo pick for Thomas is holding up a few trades. Most seem to think it will be pick 11, but maybe it will be end of first round (pick 20) so it looks more reasonable compared to the Franklin pick.

When do the AFL tell announce what the compo picks are? Do they have to wait until the end of the free agency period?

When did he do Roman Greco wrestling???

They certainly know how to celebrate a victory and I could see Jesse breaking into one of these after a goal.

An AWFUL lot of talk going on around Smooch's why's and wherefore's of leaving the Swans, and an AWFUL lot of silence from anyone who is actually in the know, i.e., Smooch himself and the club.

The last interview I saw with Nick Smith he expressed a desire to move - to the midfield.

The Swans will never put him on the trade table. With our premiership window wide open, required players will be desperate to stay.

Also remember Mike Pyke's fireside chat with Nick on Swans TV? Nick said he loved playing for the Swans. Wasn't very long ago.

Just noticed (ok its Saturday and its lovely weather, but,...) anyway I just noticed that our first round pick is number 14. Such a significant number for this club is it not?

Oh and the next number is 31. Coincidence??? I think Not!!

Its going to be a lucky year for us.

Unlikely to be 14 once compo picks are announced!

I wonder if all the Brisbane players saying they want to go home are really wanting to just get out of the Lions' organisation. Elliot Yeo says he wants to go to a Perth team, but would be a great pickup if Smith were to leave (I hate adding to the speculation about Smith being traded, but I've done it anyway as it's been a slow week at the trade table).

It would not be a bad exchange if we got Geelong's pick 16 for Smith and we traded our second round pick for Yeo, which would be 2 places better than what Freo could offer. I would hate to see him going to Freo as I think he's shown plenty to indicate that he will be a very good player.

He's bloody brilliant at what he does, but I'd love to see him in the midfield at some stage too. The way he played against the Hawks in Launceston last year, when given a half in the mids, was outstanding.

Following on from the outstanding form of the Melbourne press...Re : 'Dew being blocked from going to the Demons by the nasty Swans'...

Talk of Smith wanting to leave, by the very same journo's, will hopefully end the same way....A contract extension.

I'd hate to lose Smith, he is great asset in our backline. The only small back we have (now that Marty has retired) that can actually smother an opponent/
As for his desire to play in the midfield, he certainly showed his potential against Hawthorn in Launceston didn't her? I wonder if his two handed ball drop doesn't raise questions about his utility as a permanent part of the midfield rotation?

Probably we'll drop 14, but get an hidden gem down the list somewhere......so there!!! Lucky after all

Hearing Smith to Geelong for Trent West and pick 15....

I rate him but if we are to trade him then I feel that would be about as good as we could expect to get.

I reckon we are going to see one player leave that we would really like to keep and I fear it may be Smith.

Bundle Adreijs and Mummy up with GWS for a swap from pick 49 to 35 and we have four top 40 draft picks (14,15,31,35) before free agency compo plus we have the biggest hole on our list (a first ruckman) solved. And add in Perris who is rated a potential top 20 pick.

You can't stand still and rest on your laurels and those five picks could well uncover some real talent....
