What a bugger about Reid. Also the calf injury to Bird explains why he was the sub last week.
I would like to have seen Towers get a run, maybe he might still come in for Rohan (late substitute?)

Bad luck with Bird and Reid. We can only hope it's not the same sort of situation as last year, meaning both are out for the season.

Win or lose, Longmire has dropped several notches as a coach in my estimation. I don't know how he can play Ryan and Derickx after such poor performances last week. They must have really trained well. And if we manage to win, it will only be because ADE are in a worse state than we are, somewhat indicated by their 5 changes.

Maybe we'll try using ROK to tag Scott Thomson and hope for the best. If we come close to breakeven, it will be a big win. I hope in training Tom D practiced letting the other ruckman get the tap, as we have a much better chance of winning possession if he keeps his hands off the ball. If Tom has zero possessions and zero hitouts, we're a good chance in this game.

Heading for a 0-5 start to the season.

I can only imagine ROK is in because bird was injured.

He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Horse's strategy is to beat the Crows with Slowness. After seeing Port run the Crows into the ground last week, Horse believes he's got a better way.

I thought we'd crush the Giants and the Pies. So I've been dead wrong so far. Hopefully wrong again.

True although I wish Harry was playing the whole game. He's been quite good so far

A bit sad I thought Harry was at least putting in and trying.

I am not impressed with the team. LRT is a defensive forward at his best never a regular marking target. This is a very defensive side. There is very little attack about it. It is a Roos clone side. I think Longmire is so afraid of losing this one he has totally shut up shop. What about trying something new. Bring in some exciting talent, you never know they might just kick a few. If you are going to argue about it being defensive; LRT one of our best defenders/defensive forward, Laidler defender in. Two attacking players out due to injury. As many injuries Crows have I think they will love this team selection. A half fit LRT, Buddy, Pykie in the forward 50. Of the three only Pykie is going to be really effective in the air. Rohan had better get plenty because he'll need to.

Can't have Harry as sub. That would leave us with Laidler, Mitchell and LRT, three slows on the bench.

I agree with you. I really am confused by this. It's defensive plus plus. It seems to me that horse thinks we need more defence because we have been out scored heavily in the last qtr but it's been the delivery to the forward half and the lack of any forward targets that's been the problem. We have scored only 136 in two games. Our only saving grace is that Adelaide has had 246 scored against them. Hmm

Finally signed up here. This is a huge game against a team we've struggled against over recent years (except the last 2 games). Ryano isn't the only senior player under a lot pressure to perform to hold his spot, Shaw and LRT will also need to prove their worth at this point. I think LRT's versatilit has earned his spot in this one and I hope this means that longmire will pull the trigger on an earlier sub this time if the team slumps again in the second half.

I will be sitting in the crows members this weekend and am hoping for a big win against them at their new home ground. I went to aami last year and I'm glad I don't have to head back out there again!

Bird is an attacking player now?
