Something to be considered at selection time:
Harry Cunningham had 16 possessions at 100% efficiency. And along with Benny, the only one not to have one of our 49 clangers.
He's probably tracking better than Jetta at a similar stage of career. I think Harry's possession numbers will grow through the year and he will become an unquestioned starter before too long.Comment

I was surprised at the call of some people to drop Harry. I thought his game was pretty decent, and his pace and skills are areas we need to build up within the team, not cull. Given the role he is mostly being asked to play, those figures are OK for a player in a team that struggled to get the ball into space.
I also like Jetta's game. He did waste the ball on occasions, but his work rate, the number of times he presented as an option, his chasing and his tackling were good - all areas he has sometimes fallen down in.Comment

George Stone, the stoppages coach went with Roosy. Leigh Tudor wanted to return to Melbourne and is now Assistant at North. George is probably the most respected Assistance Coach in the game and a genius at stoppages. He has been a huge loss for us, they both have. Marty Mattner has taken the role of stoppages coach I think or mids coach. I am not sure which. That astounds me as Marty played very little of his footy in the mids. He was either a HF, FP or HB. If on the HF/FP he sometimes played in the mids but more than often just HF/FP for Crows before shifting back. He could kick a freaky goal and I think Crows were trying to develop him into a Stevie J style forward. So my point is that we lack a real stoppages specialist at the moment. I think that is really obvious in the way we are leaving the defensive side wide open.Comment

I think most people just accept that Kizza was tagged out of it, tho certainly didn't look at his best physically. Most of us are wondering why he wasn't just sent to Pendles when he started to dominate. He wasn't getting a kick, so we had nothing to lose and plenty to gain by quelling Pendles influence.
I thought Smooch wasn't too bad. Elliot had his usual flashes, but you wouldn't say he was dominant...Comment

In the end Harry is part of the future. It's interesting that most players in the Twos who have no problem hitting players up on the lead and yet our seniors couldn't hit the side of a barn from 10 paces.
By the way all these kids are really good on the delivery stakes; Lloyd, Towers, Robinson, Heeney (going to be a top pick up, bloody fast), Big Sammy, Membrey, Xav, Biggs, Perris, BJ, Marsh, Aliir 9has proven to be pinpoint in delivery and HB is super), Hewitt (also looks to have elite delivery, like to see more yet). Lockyer has his moments, Dick is wayward, Toby is a ruckman and not super but reasonably reliable, Derrickx not bad if he ever gets it, Jones will be ok once he gets over the nerves & Pat Mitchell will learn.
Harry's delivery has always been good and will get even better (as we have seen last match) and when he starts to accumulate 20 possies/game he is going to hurt sides in the vein of Fyfe.Last edited by wolftone57; 2 April 2014, 01:31 PM.Comment

I'm going to the game this week and if we lose I'll have to consider drowning myself in the Torrens - I'll jump off the new $40 mill footbridge! 0-3 doesn't bear thinking about and oh the smug bloody Adelaide Cow supporters if we lose :-(Comment

Yep, this game was the first time that Buckley has outcoached anybody. I was yelling at the telly telling Horse to put Jack onto Pendles as early as the second quarter once he started to cut us up, but did Horse listen? No, and because of that we lost the game!

He said in in Monday press conference that we scored well while Reid was back in the second and third qtrs so that's why he left him there in the last qtr. but my recallection was that we scored best at the end of the first qtr and just the beginning of second after that it was one way traffic and not in our direction. Was strange to me but like I've said before I would have done worse if I was in the coaches boxComment

Yes. Couldn't quite understand what horse was thinking.

I would fessing up means you are taking responsibility and intend not to make that mistake again. He admitted absolutely no mistakes and I think that is bad. I would rather think he was learning from the blues he is making not just denying they were blues.Comment

I'm looking forward to seeing the new Adelaide oval, but not looking forward to the game with anything but trepidation. Have a bad feeling on last week's effort that we might be 0-3 after Saturday. I damn well hope not, and want to give it to the dirty Crows fans - we will see."You get the feeling that like Monty Python's Black Knight, the Swans would regard amputation as merely a flesh wound."Comment
