It seems Eddie has gone from denegrading the Swans to now targeting Adam Goodes for his 'diving' through John Ralph's segment. Two weeks in a row if I remember correctly.

Although Adam does overdo it at times.

How about Shane Warne on twitter? I'm a cricket tragic and used to love the man but geez he is a flog these days. Wonder if the anti-Sydney/Goodes stuff is anything to do with his Eddie McGuire link via the Melbourne Stars.

        He is becoming an embarrassment.
I cringed a few times on the weekend.

The funny thing about the Goodes response to Warne was the fact the Warne and Gilly don't get on. Warne never forgave Gilly for making public statements about him after he mistakenly took his tablets that his mother got to keep him thin.

Warne strikes me as a genuinely great cricketer, an insightful commentator and an A-grade prat.

I think Goodes is in the habit of letting the umps know because they can only pay what they see. "Diving" is putting on an act when nothing much has happened, and I don't think he does that.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

I agree with both parts of this comment. I think the AFL video title and slow motion replay of Adam on Saturday are both despicable. Adam is clearly hit in the face (possibly across the throat) with an arm out flung accidentally by a Richmond player. The force of the contact was enough to send the Richmond player reeling as well as Goodes. Looked at in real time you can see the effect on both players. By showing Adam in slow motion the effect is artificially exaggerated.

Also you can see in the video that in the same passage of play (where all players were desperately trying to smother the ball), two Richmond players end up on their hands and knees in pain from accidental blows. Yet no one is accusing them of staging for frees.

Sorry but I completely disagree. Only the most one-eyed supporter would not think Goodes intentionally accentuated the result of very marginal high contact. It's not the first time he's done it and it's becoming increasingly difficult to defend.

I think Goodesy has a tendency to exaggerate things on field to get a free and would love to see him eliminate that part of his game.

However, the hypocrisy of Shane Warne is amazing! I heard Andy Maher and Andrew Gaze on Melbourne's radio station SEN discuss this matter and they both suggested that Warne give Twitter a rest for a while. They wondered how many times in his cricket career had Warne "appealed" for a dismissal, knowing full well the batsman was not out. When he batted, how many times did he not walk, knowing full well he was out? A man who was caught taking a banned substance and then blames his mum feels he can comment on someone he thinks acts a bit to get a free kick? Staggering!

I also cringe when Adam exaggerates contact. He needs to stop it as the umpires will stop paying the ones that are their.

It's not just bad for Adam but it's bad for the team because he effectively removes himself from the contest.

He needs to take a leaf out of Parker and McGlynn's handbook. Those guys almost get decapitated sometimes but they always try to maintain their feet and scramble for the ball.

He's staging every week. It's cringeworthy and completely obvious.

The Australian of The Year stuff is totally irrelevant though.
