Says it all really. Leadership the only thing that will hold them back

Saints are quite laughable a million miles off competitive football
Bold call. However I can't see it happening.

I hope the reports about St Kilda trading #1 to GWS for picks #4 and #7 as well as Rhys Stanley to Geelong for pick #21 are true. The greater number of high picks they accumulate, the more chances they will be willing to let go of a later pick in the Membrey trade that we might find useful

We need to get to pick 41 if possible for Membrey and Biggs. If the above deals all happen then pick 41 will be the Saints 5th draft selection pick.

I tend to agree with this view. But if Dericx is back fit, and can have a good summer which will help him to contribute more around the ground, then Naismith might still be 3rd in line at that end anyway.
It's sounding like the Swans have more achilles heels than they do feet.

Patful would've restored premiership favourtism IMHO. The VFL knew this. The VFL hated this.

So many people bag Derickx, but he is the bull in the china store that Swans need in the centre. Ruck skills are overrated in general. Agree with Lethal. I thought Derickx played this bullocking role really well last year. As other have pointed out, Swans are soft when the chips don't fall their way. Midfield skills are good - better than most teams - so chips usually fall Swans way. But when they don't...."[cue music] ....last day in September....."

I agree. Pyke more than holds his own in tap work. But he offers nothing else around the ground. Derickz provides a big body in the midfield and a physical presence around the contest. Pyke is a pussy cat when it comes to these things. As was evident in the GF, some teams are sensing a weakness in our physicality. A few of our players were hit hard during that game and we never responded. Other than buddy, nobody stood up to that. I think Derickz and Jones would address that.

Pykes work around the ground was good when he was teamed with Mumford, that dropped off significantly when he rucked solo for the year. Don't know how he and Dericxk fit in the team when we are already top heavy, I guess Horse and co will be earning their money next year!!

A surprise delisting to me, has pace and is fierce at the ball and man. Can make some classic errors though when under pressure, see our win against the Crows in Adelaide this year.

But beggars can't be choosers and with a thin list he could provide cheap and handy back up.

Must do the list numbers again to see how many spots we have to fill.

I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline

at the right price he could be the mid aged depth we need and the type of physical player that would compliment our bloods contested style of football

in fact I would go as far as saying he could revel in a bloods culture

The guy can play footy, but can he get his body right for long enough to do so. Certainly would potentially fill a spot in the 22 if he could stay fit and get a good run with injury.

This may be true, but I think it's an uphill battle for him. We probably don't have the space on our primary list to sign him anyway. If he doesn't get picked up in free agency or the ND and PSD, I would consider him for a rookie listing. But I am still not sure if it's the right fit and he will have plenty of competition to get into our side. With a mass influx of young midfielders, Benny, who probably most fills that role now, might find he's spending more time forward again. There is also BJ and now Hiscox that will want that small forward role as well.

I still remember when he broke Mummy's jaw. The big guy wasn't happy at all.

Biggs linked to the Dogs and Essendon. We 'expect' to receive compensation for him but could lose him as a delisted free agent as we can't promote him to the senior list (out of cap space?!) or keep him on the rookie list for a fourth year.

A particular FB trade rumours page is running that JPK will be announced as a demon tomorrow in exchange for their picks 2&3. There normally wrong on everything so I wouldn't be too concerned
