OK. So Frawley to Hawks, Ryder to Port and Clark to Cats - all moves will make very strong clubs stronger. Swans will lose Malceski with no obvious replacement, and lose some depth as well, along with an ageing key defence, and possible injuries. Do we still think the Swans are a shoe-in for the flag in 2015? Seems that the task is only going to harder. Wasn't going to get easier than this year. Just being realistic.

We'll have to wait and see what trade week brings, if anything.

I agree with you, all other contending clubs, other than Freo, look like their lists will be bolstered by a KPP signing....

All that's happening at the Swans is, Malceski gone....Goodes staying.

Maybe that one ingredient we were missing this year will grace us next season....Adversity !

Hiscox did 3.0 seconds flat in the 20 metre sprint.

For rhe record that is identical to Membrey for all those people that call him slow
You don't ban those who supported your opponent, you make them wallow in their loserdom by covering your victory! You sit them in the front row. You give them a hat! Toby Ziegler

Anyone who has seen the two of them play can see that their pace is not in the same stratosphere. But the roles they play require different kinds of speed. Membrey needs to be able to hit close to his top speed quickly, while Hiscox can take a stride or two (in space) to get to top speed.

I had another look at the video interviewing Membrey after his first and only game: SwansTV: Tim Membrey on his debut - sydneyswans.com.au

He seemed pretty stoked to me and happy to be a Swan. I can't see why he wouldn't want to stay if we could offer him reasonable prospects of getting a starting gig next year. And his prospects should be good since he played excellent footy in the NEAFL and looked okay in his senior game as well. I can only imagine that for reasons unknown (as of yet), we just didn't see much of a future for him.

[QUOTE=magic.merkin;658824] wipe your chin, your dribbling. Mooney won a medal without touching the ball, Bevan earned his spot and had 5 of the finest, including 2 more touches than NOG.]

Agree on Mooney for North but his Geelong GFs cancel out any query about his status as a premiership player.

This places Petracca in a better light as he also scored 3.0 for the 20m while carrying 92kg. I thought Hiscox was electric?

How did Petracca go in the beep test?

                Any combine results for Heeney?

I think people are really bad at judging pace. Skinny legs = pace. Many judge Mitchell as slow his Coach says very quick. Same with Dane Swan he is lightning fast many describe him as slow

As Big Al says it is discrimination against guys with big lower bodies

Decent player, but doesn't solve any problem really as he is in between Grundy and Teddy in terms of age. Would provide decent depth, but GWS will offer him guaranteed footy, so expect he will go there.

Enough with the nauseating love for Petracca. We all realise you love him and want him at the Swans - but every post doesn't need to be about him :P

Why does everyone conclude if Goodes retired membrey was the logical replacement? I like Membrey in NEAFL but Tommy Walsh looked good in NEAFL too, imho Membrey isnt the player we need, we are lacking a specialist small fwd. Membrey will be lucky to make it in AFL, he hasnt the Hgt for KP or engine for MF/FWD, no other role for him in todays game. VFL or SANFL would be a gun in either of these comps.

I don't think the Swans will let Reid go. The Swans would feel that Reid has a great opportunity to be a strong and reliable backman.

Padfull is too old to be a long term proposition. Same with Daniel Merritt. They are contracted. The story would be different if they were free agents.

If Membrey does not nominate St Kilda or Melbourne then we may score a 2nd rounder or 2nd round position upgrade for him.

I believe the hypothesis that Malceski will be a late 2nd round.

Unless any other players are traded that leaves:

                            - 1st round pick (Heeney)
                            - Maybe three picks in the 2nd round

                            We have 6 vacancies:

                            - ROK
                            - LRT
                            - Walsh
                            - Lockyer
                            - Dick
                            - Membrey

                            - Uncertainty still looms over Malceski and Shaw.

                            - There be enough spots for some rookie upgrades and up to four players in the November draft.
