Haven't you heard? It's a brilliant, bold move by the Dogs. Exactly what the doctor ordered to get them out of their crisis.

Thanks wedge did you watch the NSW ACT vs Tassie and Qld games ?

I thought he brought a real physical presence in the ruck and when there was a 50/50 on the ground alot like a young Mummy ?

Reading between the lines you feel that he has a very limited cardio capacity and or not a lot ticker for the second efforts ?

skill wise he appears ahead of Mummy at a similar age ie 4 years ago at the swans

I saw a lot of Bushrangers games. He tries hard and is good at that level but his marking is poor and he'd be lucky to average 8 touches a game at that level. He'd regularly have 30 plus taps though.

Tom Boyd 11 games in NEAFL, 21 goals at 1.9 goals per game. Membrey 19 games 57 goals at 3 goals per game. Hope St Kilda have a big cheque book....

Taylor hunt, Mitch Robinson, Jarrad Patrenko. All likely to be delisted free Agents. Who is most worthy to be taken by a team in our unfortunate position?

I don't subscribe to the fact we need another experienced player, but if we were determined to take one, for me it would be Taylor Hunt in a flash, Tall, reasonable quick, decent tagger. Has come from Geelong, so he understands what is required around a successful club. And there is no shame in losing a spot in a strong squad.

I don't believe we need one either necessarily, but in our current predicament it might prove handy to have another experienced player from outside our club, obviously desperate for senior footy, to push our other depth players for a spot in the 22. Mitch Morton is a good example. He certainly came in handy. And I agree with you on Hunt to.

Me too. I'm extremely concerned about our defence next year. Hunt can play in defence and I think we really need some support for down there incase we get some injuries. He's not tall (he's just under 6ft). He's well worth looking at even if we only keep him for a couple of seasons.

Biggs will be at the Bulldogs next year, all that is left to be seen is whether we can get something for him or they just pick him up as a delisted free agent which considering their picks and ours seems the most likely result.

After losing Lamb for nothing last year, it seems we will lose both Membrey and Biggs for zilch this year. We are becoming the creche for other clubs. I guess the up side is that except for Mal, we are not getting raided for our best players like in the past.

Better to have other clubs battling over our scraps than being in the position where we need to battle over other teams' scraps. And the Swans are yet to lose an unproven player to another club that has proven to be a mistake. Players like Rowe, Simpkin and Gordon have worked their way onto other clubs' lists and done OK, but only after time in a lower league so arguably the Swans' view that they weren't ready has been vindicated.

I notice that Heath and Johnston have both been delisted in this off-season.

Shame for Campbell Heath - that boy could play, but injuries seem to have stopped him developing as everyone would have hoped.LJ never really looked likely @ Sydney, and could barely get a game at the crows even when walker was out, so no suprise.

Both Hunt and Robinson would be handy, my bit would be on Robinson he plays with agro and is a hard nut which is maybe what we need, fix up
Hodge et al. with hardness. Sign him and say if you get rubbed out you loose pay.

Membrey I could live with, given the strength of our forward line, but Biggs was an important top up player in the area we are most vulnerable (our back six). I think it was a mistake not to do more to hold on to him.

No thanks. Robinson is a flog of the highest calibre. He is totally undisciplined and unrepentant about his many misdemeanours. The only thing that will change him is a couple of years on the sideline where he can realise what a dimwit he was about how he threw away his career.
