        Kyle Galloway Murray Bushrangers Vic
        21.11.1996 Height: 206cm Weight: 104kg

        re Sam Murray

Not good enough for TAC Cup, now a draft smokey: Murray in the mix - AFL.com.au

WODONGA midfielder Sam Murray shapes as a possible smokey at this month's NAB AFL Draft after spending this season playing at country level.
Gold Coast, Melbourne, the Western Bulldogs and Sydney Swans are among the clubs to have shown interest in Murray, who played for the Raiders this season having not made the Murray Bushrangers' under-18 squad.
The 18-year-old finished third in the Ovens and Murray Football League's Morris Medal after an impressive season in the senior Wodonga team, which has seen him catch the eye of recruiters.
Wodonga coach Daryn Cresswell, who played 244 games with the Sydney Swans, said Murray's improvement across the year had seen him come on recruiters' radars for the national and rookie drafts in the last week of November.
"He carries the footy and reads the play really well. He's excellent above his head, and we pushed him forward this year and came out with five goals in a quarter-and-a-half," Cresswell said.
"He's come on in leaps and bounds, and he's one of those uncanny players who can really open the game up with his footy nous.
"There's been a lot of interest in Sam, and I'd be shocked if he didn't get picked up either in the national or rookie draft."

            From the Roar draft preview;
            Galloway ? Deniliquin (Ruckman 206cm/105kgs)
He?s a big, big boy and is still growing. Just 5cm shorter than Sandilands he has developed quickly and could go early if recruiters want him bad enough. Has done enough to show he could be a future star.

              more re Sam Murray

In the mix despite injuries and setbacks | The Border Mail

Wodonga Raiders? Sam Murray is developing as one of the draft?s most intriguing stories. Sam has had the opportunity to trial for development squads such as the GWS Giants Academy and Murray Bushrangers unsuccessfully. However, Sam has continued to present himself at the highest level available despite the setbacks. In many ways Sam holds the dream alive that you can still find your way into the big time without the normal pathways. This year Sam was runner up in the Morris Medal. If drafted, there is little doubt he will be coming from a long way back compared to others but this adds to the intrigue and in some ways gives Sam an advantage as he has had to carve his own way.

is pre slection in the rookie draft simply where we nominate these two players and then hope we can pick them up in order of our picks ?

The Northern clubs have always had the opportunity to pre-select NSW or QLD kids in the rookie draft, from their own state, if they weren't drafted.
Harry Cunningham, Brett Kirk, Dylan McNeil and Paul Bevan were all players taken under this rule. The picks are never announced prior to the rookie draft though as they have to get through the pre-season draft as well.
Both Galloway and Murray are both in GWS' zone so like Cunningham they would be a slap in the face to GWS.

Did anyone notice the absence of Phil Scully on the GWS recruiting table at the draft?????????

No PSD picks this year so maybe that's why they let the cat out of the bag.

Murray coming third in the O&M league b&f as an 18 year old is a pretty awesome effort...it's the 2nd strongest country league in the state (after the Geelong Footy League) and is stacked with plenty of ex-AFL talent. Fevola, Pettifer, Polo etc. Sounds like a promising young kid!

There's also a post on Big Footy that mentions Gallloway averaged 15 tackles a game in the handful of TAC Cup games he played...amazing stat for a guy that size

Well what a pack of wasters you all are.
I spent a year supporting Adam in every social forum and at most games.
So, this insignificant turkey makes revolting innuendoes and you all seem to jump on the forgiving trail.
Do we therefore forgive the hundreds, probably thousands of weekly ' booers ' at each game??
What , are they all too young and na?ve? There mother should love them too because they didn't mean to be racist wasters???
What a sick pack of turds we have created in My Club!!
Maybe we'll recruit McGuire and Newman to the Board because they'll bring money.
This kid should not have been recruited. The dopes in our recruitment office did not research.
I have wasted my vitriol if you supporters are so forgiving.

                                This is beyond belief.
Welcome to RWO. I agree with you that the Swans should have done their research and passed on him, BUT, now that we have him, he should be encouraged to do what he does best, and that is play good footy. As far as his perceived 'attitudes' go, when you think about it, regarding turning young kids into fine young men, he couldn't be at a better place. If HE'S not up to it, he'll be offloaded to the Magpies in no time!!
