This thread is meant to be about the draft and Sydney's draftees. While the "story" of Tyrone's social media activity was relevant, the latest political right/left wing stuff is very much off topic.
Can we please keep this out of the thread from this point. I will either move or delete off-topic stuff in this thread sometime later this evening when I have time - if it is coherent I will move to a thread in a more appropriate forum. Anything n the same vein from this point onwards will just be deleted as "off topic".Last edited by liz; 27 November 2015, 05:22 PM. Reason: Wrote "on topic" when clearly meant "off topic"Comment

Another slightly off topic, MMM news in Melbourne just announced on the news that Sam Reid was drafted by GWS after being delisted by the Swans LOLComment

I'm pretty happy with the kids we picked up today. I think we covered a few positions: Galloway (ruck), Marsh (defence), Murray (outside run / midfielder?), Papley (small forward). The great thing about these kids is that any one of them could go on and play 300 games for the Swans. I love draft time of the year and will hang on to the anything-can-happen-next-year attitude with fierce optimism, especially with Kinnear overlooking our selections. Add Kirky to the mix and Longmire's stint at the supercoaches meet ... there's lots of reasons to look forward to 2016.Comment

"You get the feeling that like Monty Python's Black Knight, the Swans would regard amputation as merely a flesh wound."Comment

Kyle Galloway 209cm, 105kg. Exciting! Taubs, you've got your next project!
And lucky I'm not a recruiter, because when I watched him kicking for goal in that highlight clip, I saw less of Kinnear's "deceptively agile" and more of a new-born giraffe finding its legs. But there is s very tall lump of putty to be moulded thereLast edited by goswannies; 27 November 2015, 05:06 PM.Comment

Well said. Compare Tyrone's indiscretion to that of Lewis Taylor from the Lions.
It's as though Tyrone is copping more heat than Lewis Taylor. I for one don't know any moron who thinks it's appropriate to smash the windscreens of multiple trucks and cause $10,000 worth of damage. Think about the loss of productivity that these truck drivers would have experienced as a result of Lewis's actions.
Tyrone has done nothing compared to Lewis Taylor.
Let's get behind Tyrone.Comment

Give the kid a go...he didn't choose the swans they chose him. He might not agree with Adams stance, his antics, his beliefs, but at 18 he is probably naive to all those thing Adam stands for. I am sure he will be educated in aboriginal history, in Adams history and the culture that makes the Swans tick. That can olny be a positive and then he can educate all his dumb mates about it. Because we barrack hard for the team, follow them, assume we know them.. we get our backs up,against somebody having an opinion..... As I have told my stupid mates...the word opinion and the phrase 'in my opinion ' is bullshize. It's basically a way to say what you want as long as you precursor with that.
Let's not crush this kid ...we have a history of turning out great people no matter there history.
The name is a beaut.

Dad also mentioned that Max Papley was a "brilliant footballer without really trying". I remember his name more than his football as I was a youngster when he played, but my Dad also saw a lot of Max in Williamstown where he was a playing coach(that's where we hail from).Comment
