Mills OK, but why did we get so many points if we weren't going to use them??

Dunkley should have been match: who to say in two years he would go home? Who would prefer Gippsland to Sydney?

As for the other recruits, yet again we have recruited medium players, just like last year, from Sturt. Don't we already have Rose, Brandon etc for those positions?

Why won't we recruit Key positional players?? If it wasn't for the academy players, we would look very threadbare.

Apart from Mills, there is nothing to get exciting about; these players are the longest of speculation shots!

I found the televised draft to be very boring. Pick 3 then had to wait until the 50's
Watched channel 503 for the picks as they happened after top 10 draftees.
What was with Gill walking up to the podium for every selection? Surely he could have been seated.
I didn't find the new format (with the clubs separate from all others) generated much excitement.
Maybe I was expecting too much?

ALMOST feel sorry for the kid. First of all he has to front the management, then the coaches - including Shaw & Silver Fox, then Kiz & Macca, then the rest of the leadership group, then the other players, runners, MickyO. Us. And then Adam himself.

Agree with you Cosmic- should have matched the Bid for Dunkley- even if we went into negative points - next years academy crop are not as good as the past two seasons. Apart from Mills, i would be surprised if the other two get a game. Father/ son selections are as rare as hens teeth - they help build a culture and tradition around a club.

The thing about 'them' is that most of them would change their tune if they were to ever meet Goodesy, or even seriously be confronted about their opinion. IMO it's a great learning opportunity for him. He's a silly kid who followed the crowd (what teenager hasn't?) and deserves a shot a redeeming himself before being sent to the slaughterhouse.

I dont think next year is about the academy players, its next years draft overall is suppose to be very good and runs deep, so we didnt want to have a points deficit

I pretty much respect everything our recruiters do..always have done.

But I can't believe there is an employer anywhere in Australia these days who, as part of their due diligence on prospective employees, fails to check their face book pages.

And, if these alleged 'likes' were visible at that time, I can't believe he would have been offered employment in the Swans environment.

So, either the check was not done, or it was done and the 'likes' were deemed acceptable.

Either way, I'm unimpressed.
