I think we are missing the obvious. We can't afford O'Meara. If we could afford him, then we'd just give that money to Mitchell and he'd stay

I don't know why we'd want O'Meara anyway. The kid can't stay on the park and we already have enough injury prone players.

Mitchell not worth that though...yes he gets the ball but he doesnt do enough damage for my liking with it. and his pace is not quick enough to explode out of the midfield..

Being reported that O'Meara has chosen Hawthorn as his destination.

Not sure how we would work it financially. Do you think Mitchell plus our first round pick would interest them enough?
O'Meara is still an injury risk, Mitchell is a proven stayer, I doubt we would give them a first round pick and a gun for a risky proposition. How about we give them Mitchell for O'Meara and their first round pick? Closer to the mark I would think.......O'Meara seems to have tickets on himself and his 'value' for someone who's hardly played for two years......

oh well there goes that theory then....

so when do the Hawks get a trade ban for continually bring top end talent in from other clubs.
              Lake, Frawley, O'Meara etc etc

If JOM is going to Hawthorn, then they surely can't afford T Mitchell too

Surely not. After all, 'they cant have everyone', can they?

                    No thanks.
If we can't afford Tommy Mitchell, we can't afford this bloke.

I thought we couldn't have everyone, anyway.

Dont' worry, they have the ultimate flexible salary cap - they can fit whoever they want, whenever they want.

O'Meara to the Hawks, what a surprise - NOT! Be interesting to see how they get the deal done with Gold Coast.

That means Mitchell isn't Hawthorn bound so if he is going better look at who could get the deal done with us.

The last club you want Tom to choose, if indeed he is going and to Melb, would be Essendon with that @@@@@ Dodoro their list manager and the pick 1 PSD threat.

Carlton have pick 5, Richmond are committed to Prestia, Pies no first rounder, Melb pick 9, Saints pick 10 getting a bit far out. Gold Coast are the ones stacks of picks and plenty of salary cap, but Tom has already said no.

Obviously the opportunity to play for a successful club is a pretty huge draw, but beyond that how do Hawthorn manage to do it? Presumably they have multiple guys who have moved to the club on a figure that is significantly under their market value- do they have really strong corporate ties to line people up with opportunities outside of football?
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Personally i think Mitchells currency has dropped in the last month and a bit. He has been badly exposed against pacey teams.

I think he will end up staying in a deal that will be back-ended.

Think this time Gold Coast will play hard ball and JOM won't get to the Hawks without significant cost. This may still be a three way deal, JOM to Hawks, 2016 & 2017 first rounders to Swans, Mitchell to Gold Coast?

                                We could do worse.
