The AFL veteran half-payments have been abolished, haven't they?
This would mean that the hawks have to find the money to pay the full wage of all the veterans on their list, yes?
Unless the players are taking a 50% paycut (or more), how the hell do they afford this?
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

The key dates for delisted free agents are as follows:

Tuesday November 1 - NAB AFL delisted player free agency period (1) begins

Tuesday November 8 - NAB AFL delisted player free agency period (1) closes

Thursday November 10 - NAB AFL delisted player free agency period (2) begins

Friday November 18 - NAB AFL delisted player free agency period (2) closes

Saturday November 26 - NAB AFL delisted player free agency period (3) begins

Sunday November 27, 2pm - NAB AFL delisted player free agency period (3) closes

Why all the "opening and closing" periods over a short period of time for delisted free agents? Why not just leave it open?

Allegedly, but I would really love to see the AFL publish what players get in third party contracts

I was talking about the new contracts for Burgoyne, Hodge, Gibson and Mitchell reportedly being on much less coin

I wonder who is paying for the Mitchell family trip to Hawaii and Disneyland. He said he was looking forward to the extra 2 weeks off.

North might be regretting their premature retiring of their aging stars. Boomer or Del wild have been OK replacements for the departing Wells, considering Wells' age, injuries and the length of contract North tabled to him (2 years?). Both Del & Boomer were playing as well as wells & could possibly have gone on for another 2 years each.

As an aside, we should've thrown our hat in the ring for International Rookie Mark O'Connor. We've had some luck???? from county Kerry (Tadhg & Tommy Walsh)????????

Geez Collingwood have to be desperate to offer Wells 3 years...

Absolutely. Likewise Hawthorn with Vickery. It will be a bizarre situation at Hawthorn where a bunch of the senior guys will be getting less
than Vickery, no spring chicken himself & barely able to hold his place in the Richmond team this year. Maybe Collingwood truly believe they
are just a couple decent players away from being contenders. More realistically they just want to somehow scrape into the lower rungs of
the eight, and then Buckley can keep his job. All these middle table teams have reasonable lists, but they don't have the week-in, week-out
consistency that ensures they never lose two or more games in a row.

Do you reckon we could get Collingwood to offer Macca a 3 year deal?

Richmond will get pick 26 for Vickery. I'd take that for Nanka.

I would try to ship out as many marginal players as possible to get into this draft. I would have Towers, BJ and Marsh on the trade table as well. I can't see them with big futures with us.

Maybe Freo would take Marsh for their 3rd round pick. That would be enough to get Olango, I think.

Towers and BJ to Brisbane for pick 28 or even better add pick 36 and get back pick 19. That should give us 3 picks inside 20, which should set us up well for the future.

PS: Listening to Terry Wallace on Trade Radio analyzing the Swans. What an idiot. He knows nothing about the Swans. How he ever became a coach is beyond me.
