From Trade Wrap: "Sydney Swans ruckman Toby Nankervis is expected to decide this week whether he wants a trade after not being able to cement a senior spot despite good performances in 12 matches with the club.
Richmond appears to be in the box seat as it looks for back-up to Shaun Hampson"
So he goes from a back-up in a grand final side, to a backup in side that's a sack full of spuds?
I like this year's draft and wouldn't mind picking up another pick or 2 inside 40. A few of the players I like in the draft have been getting a bit of good publicity unfortunately. I thought Berry or Logue might be available at pick 17, but they both did so well in the combine that it's looking far less likely. I also like Tony Olango, but difficult to say where he might go in the draft.Comment

I think we need to trade out one ruckman. Toby would be my 3rd choice, but considering the other 2 are contracted for next year, we may not have a choice. Richmond don't have a second round pick so far this year but have several players on the trade table that might get them one. Otherwise, I would take their 2017 2nd rounder.

I find it kind of weird that there was no interest in Harvey.
He was playing well, in the best 22 in a mid range side, and I would have thought worth the risk for a 1 year contract. Even as a depth player.
I know the reasons why clubs won't be interested, and I get that clubs are 'looking to the future' but Johnson is a case in point where a player at the end of his run can play on and be very effectiveComment

Ideally I'd like to see us have two picks in the first 25 plus a late second rounder for our ruckman. We can then keep our third rounder to draft Jake Brown.
So that sees us drafting four and three upgrades. Nanka, Towers, Ben, TomD, Ted and Jack sees six out. I'd think Marsh deserves an upgrade so would we maybe trade picks 17 and (say) 21 for Pick 7 which we could conceivably trade to GWS and only take three picks - A ruck, Brown and an absolute gun.Comment

Hopefully this time tomorrow we'll know if Tom was telling porkies to Annie or not.Comment

Erm, he said that he signed a contract already? He fairly clearly has not done that.He ate more cheese, than time allowedComment

The eternal connundrum "what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object" was finally solved when David Hasselhoff punched himself in the face.Comment

Tippett & Mitchell for pick 1 isn't even a good deal! Whoever you draft, you have no guarantee they are a gun or that they won't "do a Mitchell" and want to go to the Hawks in a few years (if Mitchell does decide to go). Hopefully it'll end up like another RO'K situationComment

Hope we don't give up Mitchell to the Hawks without demanding a king's ransom. F the Hawks. Every bloody draft year they always poach good players from other clubs without giving up much: Brian Lake, Shaun Burgoyne, David Hale, Jack Gunston, Ben McEvoy, James Frawley and Gibson were all poached from rival clubs to suit specific needs. This year looks like they're getting: Mitchell, Ty Vickery, O'meara. This has to stop. I'd swap Mitchell for Hawks' recruiting managerComment

Got to love how the Hawks can find $1 million over 2 years to pay Vickery - what are they going to pay Mitchell or O'Meara then"You get the feeling that like Monty Python's Black Knight, the Swans would regard amputation as merely a flesh wound."Comment

My preferred scenario for the Swans in this trade period: Towers for a pick upgrade. Done.Comment
