I have no idea whether he will stay, but I don't think you can read too much into it.
Jones seemed generally guarded and unenthusiastic doing the media interview.
Players don't usually like direct questions about if or when they are going to resign. So seemed to slip into the cliche about focusing on playing well and not immediately thinking about the contract stuff.

I think he'll take big money as Gary Ablett's replacement at Suns. No inside knowledge just a gut feel.
I would have thought that Victoria would be the location for Jones.
If Melbourne got Zak Jones and have he and Patracca breaking lines, they would be Premiership favourites in 2018 along with GWS.
Look who Melbourne had out:
Nathan Jones
Watts
Garlett
Hogan
Salem
Brayshaw
Jay Viney (2nd half)
Put Zak Jones with that fit grouping and you have a deadly side.
I was very unconvinced by his interview. I think he is going. It's only the best trade deal the Swans need now.
The Saints have two 2017 1st round draft picks to deal with.
You're probably right. Dusty is more of a like for like that the Suns will be splashing out on (and he looks like a mercenary to boot). Plenty of bikers in Goldy.
Unfortunately, I think Zac is going and Reid too. Correct me if I'm wrong but big OoC names never stay if unsigned when it gets to this end of the season.
Fox footy Interview after the game. Evasive, unconvincing answers, paraphrased "I will see what happens at the end of the season". Poor body language.
I am unsure why Harley stated that Jones is nearly done.
The only things i can think is Jones and/or Reid are out and someone else coming in or waiting to see if Swans trade out a different player to create space for Jones/Reid.

Given the list that Melbourne have Id be very surprised that they'd have the cash to entice Jones. I think we can rule them out. The Aints would have to be a Definately chance. I really, really hope we keep him however. He's a perfect fit for us and we don't have a player that can replace him. Losing him would be akin to losing Parker or Hanners.
I'm slightly concerned re Jones but what will be will be here. I think if he hasn't signed by the end of July he is absolutely gone, the AFL meedja usually feed on this pretty quickly and accurately so the lack of noise there is somewhat encouraging.
Reid will take his time because that is exactly what free agency is designed for, allowing players to test their market value.
As for what Jones would be worth I'd be thinking a first rounder of some description. If it was the Saints I'd take their second first rounder (should be about pick 10) but we'd probably need to give up some back end pick movement (e.g swap of our second rounder for their third rounder perhaps)
