Would not happen as Mason Cox is offering more at Full Forward than Tippett. At 210cm and with good hands and reliable kick he could develop into an interesting player.

The Ben Reid dropping could work well for the Swans. It shatters the brothers back together fantasy.

So what happens if Reid and Jones exit stage right.

It would be a blow for sure but I expect us to sign at least one and I think the chances are higher of us signing both than neither.

The only reason I have for saying this is that I think that the "extra" $1M in cap space plus what we are doing with Tippett may allow enough wriggle room in the cap.

If we lose them both? My personal preference would be to go to the draft with three first rounders this year, re-sign some more players with sign-on bonuses this year to soak up cap space and free up space in the future and look to next year for a KPF once the player market settles down into a more normal pattern.

One of the really interesting aspects of following the Swans is watching our recruitment. I have no doubt that there are contingencies in place for the loss of both or either Jones & Reid. While I'd hate to see either of them go I have absolute faith that we'll cover their losses quickly and well. I feel that Reid will be harder to replace although I think he gives less to the side than Jones.

If the rumours are true that we are trying to offload KT in a trade then I feel it likely that Reid is staying. One can only hope as i think both these players have their best years ahead. Jones's improvement over the past year has been significant and I think he will only get better.

I don't want both to leave however I would be extremely disappointed in losing Zak Jones especially as he is just starting to show consistently why we drafted him. Sam Reid I don't want to lose either however this will be through free-agency where Zak will need to be traded. I spoke to a high-profile former AFL player yesterday who is also in the media and he thinks it does not look for both of them staying at the Swans. It seemed that every available superstar was coming to the Swans and joining the Bondi Billionaires club. Be it Ryder, Dangerfield. I thought we could have them all.

Now we are struggling to hold onto two players that we really want to keep.

Only if we lost Reid for mine. History tends to teach us that the good KPFs will usually require a top ten pick so it would be a gamble worth taking, at the moment topping up the elite talent seems a good idea and with hopefully Blakey to come next year we'd have good stocks on the place.

If Reid stays then I would prefer to go for two latter first round draftees as mids.

If Reid goes then Tippett stays, our only option will be to try and get a serviceable season or two out of him as a stay at home full forward. I'd start to trying to get some of that beef off him that makes him so statue like on the field, have a look at the way he moved at Adelaide and how he moves now and it is chalk and cheese
