Tippett would make little sense for the Suns as they have a number of injury-prone key position players/rucks as it it. On second thoughts, that may mean he fits in perfectly.

[QUOTE=707;741571]Jordan Dawson? So will mine. If they put him permanent FF again I'll tear my hair out. Must play mids.Comment

the needs - goal kicking midfielder
Not to be mistaken from a midfielder that goes forward
Another classy kicker
The MCG highlights our inability to pierce through defences.
Watts could be this guy. We have an impeccable record of turning this type of player around
Might be worth looking at Trent Mackenzie as well
Huge kick of the footy. I'm told that the suns have really stifled his game style
as to the goal kicking mid we have him already, Dawson. playing 15 matches Dawson managed; D-427 Av 28.40, G-38 B-25, K-261 HB-166, M-118 Av.7.9, T-83 Av.5. , Dream Team-1996. He was also 4th in the MVP Award. The only player to play only 15 games but only lose by 6 votes. great kick, fantastic ability to get free and get the ball free.Comment

Further to the comments earlier in this thread about how Melbourne are dealing with "the Jack Watts situation", I read on afl.com.au today that Adelaide have told Jake Lever NOT to attend their best and fairest count. (The article doesn't comment on whether Cameron - who's still contracted but expressing a desire to leave, in contrast to the out-of-contract Lever - has also been uninvited.
It's not the first time that clubs have done this to players who've indicated they're leaving but I find it really pathetic and childish. The B&F dinner, for any club, is meant to be about celebrating the season just past. Even though Adelaide will be disappointed in how it ended, they had a pretty damn good season. They are a club that's picked themselves up from a terrible tragedy just a couple of years ago, put it behind them, and improved immensely. Lever's been an important part of all of this. Why wouldn't they want to part on good terms, and help Lever remember his time with Adelaide with fondness, not burn all the bridges as he leaves the building?
I struggle to think of any player who has left the Swans in recent times who's been treated like this, or even had a word of criticism from the club said in a public arena. Maybe, if you go back to the days of Grant and Rocca there might have been some frustration aired, but that was more about how hard it was for a non-Victorian club to retain out of state players rather than personal comments about the players themselves. And I remember seeing Rocca at the B&F the year he left the club. Sure, he skulked at the back of the room all night and left as soon as he reasonably could, but at least he was made welcome and showed up.Comment

have you listened to any of the conversation during the year by the rucks. naismith and Tippett both said that they get together, a ruck club if you wish, every week for a catch up and coffee or lunch (Tippo normally pays according to Big Sammy 'cos he earns the big bucks). Obviously with the season finished it is a beer instead.Comment

Just read there is a Trade Radio station that runs from 7am to 6pm every day. 90 per cent of it would be rumour and gossip that any footy fan could make up. And yet it must have a market to justify it.Comment

Agree, we seem to be making room for two or more players.
Brandon Jack, Tyrone Leonardis, Michael Talia, Shaun Edwards, Jeremy Laidler gone or retired and AJ to be rookie listed.
We have picks 14, 31, 49, 68 and 86; one to upgrade Melican.
Should be an interesting trade period.Comment

[QUOTE=rojo;741844]Damien Barrett on afl.com is suggesting that KT could follow Dew to the Suns. Evidently they get along very well. An interesting possibility especially for those who want us to get ride of KT.
Barrett lights fires and then watches responses. He is a stirrer. I would trade Tippo in a heartbeat but I just can?t see a club desperate enough to sign an injury prone player whose best days are long gone. Why would the Suns want him? Why take the risk?"Play like you can’t lose."Comment

I really doubt whether Lever would have attended the B&F given the events that have taken place in the past few days already. The Crows have lost the PR battle by 'banning' him from attending when he probably wouldn't have turned up anyway.Comment

I think there is slight miscalculation here, because Edwards is a rookie and we also need to upgrade or delist either O'Riordan or Murray (my guess is O'Riordan).
Picks after the 1st round will push out due to FA compensation of Rockliff, Trengove and Motlop.
As it stands now, assuming AJ goes to the rookie list, we are looking at picks 14, 33 and 52, one Cat A and one Cat B rookie.Comment

According to the Rookie rules we can keep them both on the rookie List for another year as they are only two year rookies. They can have three years. We need to upgrade Melican, Edwards has retired so we get two vacant Rookie spots already. toby will not be upgraded so he automatically takes one spot. Ronke, Murray, Fisher, Fox and O'Riordan are all vying to be upgraded. Murray and O'Riordan have the most chance due to being here the longest. Murray would be a really good upgrade but we would probably need to downgrade someone. AJ or Rose come to mind. Although we might just trade Harry out to Suns.
Fox did well I thought when he played earlier in the year given everything. Worth persevering with I reckon.Comment

It's not just non-SA players retuning to their home states. Many young SA Uni graduates leave for the eastern states (in SA they refer to it as the "brain drain") and the unrelenting anti-Victorian is somewhat tiring to Victorians who have relocated to SA.Comment
