Apart from the Bell injury, that was a pretty good quarter. The Suns hardly looked like scoring and we probably should be further in front. Fox was having his way in the midfield and snapped a nice goal from a forward pocket ruck contest. Though strangely, Menzel has been doing some forward half rucking. Hirst kicked our other, from a bit of front and centre roving, after a sweeping move, largely instigated by Stoddart. In these games, I find myself increasingly hoping that Stoddart gets the ball, as he usually makes something happen.
Despite the Suns winning the scoreboard by one point, we probably had marginally the better of that quarter. It's just that the few times that the Suns got the ball to Corbett, he marked and goaled. Of our players, Thurlow spent much of the quarter reminding the selectors that he's too good for the NEAFL; while Jack looked like he was quite enjoying throwing his weight around. Hirst has been good today.
A poor quarter, which will be hard to come back from. We kept on missing targets, while they kept on hitting their forwards; especially Corbett and Nutting. If there was a highlight for us, it would be a couple of strong marks by McLean.
A better quarter, but we never really looked like running down the start that we gave them in the third. In my opinion, Fox was our best; especially in the first and fourth quarters. Thurlow got plenty of it, while Wicks applied the most tackling pressure. A whole heap of others did good things here and there.

So Wicks came back on after his head first poleaxing? Wow....
Bell was the one concussed and he didn’t come back on
Agree Fox was our best but it wasn’t a fantastic performance either. We had no defender to go with Corbett’s pace and power - tried Pink, Amartey and also young Rory Barkley in vain.
Couldn't agree more, Ludwig, the way the Swans treat their NEAFL side is terrible. As I have said on this site and directly to the Swans CEO, its like the NEAFL side doesn't exist. We as supporters would like to know about the players, particularly the young talented recruits. Yet each year, many are "missing", not mentioned on injured lists or any updates. Great way to incentivise these young players into the Swans inclusive culture. I could go on!!!
