Given our seniors are likely to miss finals, and our NEAFL team are likely to make finals, I hope the cards fall that a significant number of our players achieve the necessary number of games to qualify for neafl finals! After going down in the GF so many times I'm hoping it turns out that we have a strong NEAFL team for finals! Obviously seniors take precedence, however I think the number of neafl games is 7 to play a non afl club like southport.Comment

He’s also named in the outs? Hmm.Comment

NEAFL website with an updated team. Tyson in the pocket instead of Ling and just one emergency remains in Brewer.Comment

There's 11 Academy players in this list, compared to the 9 named last night. Brewer off the emergencies and Geddes in for his debut.
This would suggest 2 of the senior emergencies will not be lining up in Brisbane tomorrow. The other possibility is that one of the non-emergencies is out.Comment

Looks like Thurlow and Pink are the two withdrawnComment

It's not surprising, I guess, that Thurlow is travelling down to Geelong as emergency. But Pink being out as well is a shame. Whenever Brisbane have had a good enough contingent of midfield players, their height has always been a big challenge for our NEAFL side - at both ends of the ground. Up forward, Matt Eagles tends to pick everything off with annoying monotony, but I had hoped that Knoll's inclusion would enable the team to have a second tall target to support Amartey (either Knoll or Cameron), thus making Eagles more accountable. That may happen, but the defence is going to struggle with no tall listed defenders at all. Even with Pink in the side, the Lions have several tall targets capable of causing problems, but without him (and Thurlow) the job becomes that much harder.
I guess the midfield is going to have to dominate for us to have any chance in this match.Comment
