We actually traded all four Danihers to Essendon for Neville Foulds (complete with two buggered knees). "Neil Daniher told me this in person".

I suppose it could be good if it fixes the problems but seems pretty up in the air. I guess it does suggest they found something they thought they could fix that hasn't already been fixed giving rise to the idea that it could be fixed. Overall I'm struggling to see it as a positive that a player we are considering recruiting who has a long history of calf problems is having more surgery on, you guessed it, his calves.
      He sounds busted.

Calf injuries are notoriously difficult to get right. His calves sound worse than Macca's.

If we are thinking about signing him, get him in to train with the boys ad the article suggests.

I remember reading that the Brisbane surgeon, with a different approach from previous surgeons, had discovered a source of Bennell's problem with calves. If he had left calf surgery following on his right calf surgery a couple of months ago I think it's worth the wait to ease him into training when he can start and see what happens. Of course there are risks, but we can afford to take them and if all goes well (I know, often it doesn't) we have gained a substantial asset. Even if it doesn't work out it will still be worthwhile to try and see.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

What kind of blasphemy is this?

We will always have between 3 and 8 ruckmen, regardless of what I say.

Abe Davis is a star in the SANFL.

Tony Olango just got handed a suspended sentence on his assault conviction. So in my book, Olango is still a go go. He's playing for East Perth. I would draft him for sure this year. I like his aggression.

I presume you’re kidding? We traded Terry & Neil (the latter sight unseen) to Essendon for Neville Fields before the 1978 season. Fields returned to the Bombers a couple of years later.
Anthony started with South in 1981 and made the move to Sydney, staying with the Swans until 1986. Chris was approached by the Bombers ahead of the 1986 season and made his debut the following year after Anthony joined his brothers.

                Resign Zak Jones
Watching Heppell, Parish, Shiel absolutely butcher the ball, Zak is every bit as good as them and wont cost as much

South have dished out some bad trades too. John Pitura to Richmond, Graham Teasdale, Brian Roberts, Francis Jackson and $40,000 to South Melbourne.

That trade was so bad that you couldn't even remember the name of Neville Fields.

And how about we sign Francis too? I'd be happy with him. He's younger than Keath who also appeals. While we're on the topic of KPDs, is there any point considering Hugh Goddard, or is he a bust?

                            Goddard to old,
Parish is good, cant believe how bad Essendon stars were with disposal.
Mcgrath a jet, id take him
