We should be embarrassed that we don't cave to Essendon's astonishingly stupid demands?

Were West Coast embarrassed because they couldn't land Kelly last year? No. Were any of a range of other clubs similarly embarrassed for failing to complete a trade? No. Would Carlton be embarrassed if they don't get Papley? No - nor would you see the Herald-Sun suggesting that.
Let's not forget, this is the Herald-Sun here. It is not a bastion of quality, unbiased journalism."Unbelievable!" -- Nick Davis leaves his mark on the 2005 semi finalComment

I'm heartened to hear pick 5 is not on the table for Daniher.....As it shouldn't.
Now I hope we tell Carlton they're dreaming.
If Papley's problem is personal, and not club related, we should get around him and make it work...He's a fine player, he's 23, he's contracted, he's required...No deal.Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect... MTComment

Whatever happens, when 7:30 PM finally arrives it will feel like passing a kidney stone. Lucky for me that I live in Thailand and the torture will end 4 hours sooner.
Pondering the title of my next book.

Usually Swans' fans can sit back knowing the recruiting team knows what they're doing but this trade period has really tested the faith. On no reading is Daniher a need for our team currently as we won't be challenging in 2020. Our midfield is crying out for more numbers and talent, especially when Jones departs and if we let Papley walk. To potentially lose two top 10 picks to make it happen would be concerning and put our long term prospects at risk.
It will be a long day but hoping we hold the line."As everyone knows our style of football is defensive and unattractive, and as such I have completely forgotten how to mark or kick over the years" - Brett Kirk

Agree re Jenkins
We need the depth at FF and kicking ability at a good price plus some rucking when in our forward line
I’m still very concerned re our clearances and was hoping JD would share his time at FF and Ruck especially at the SCG if we could have landed JD at the right trade"be tough, only when it gets tough"

Looking like GWS will secure Green.
Sam Edmund on Twitter: "Fascinating to see what the Demons do with picks 3 & 8. Unlikely to trump the Blues for Papley & could instead send 3 to a GWS side eager to move up the draft so as not to use first pick matching a bid for academy wonderkid Tom Green. Dees could ask for GWS pick 6 & future first."Comment
