Trade ban, injuries anyone? You can spin in that way, but at the end of the day we got a lesser player in exchange. And Jetta has another premiership.
We actually make Sinclair look good because we have allowed our ruck stocks to be depleted (another poor list management aspect).
At the end of the day, you don't go from flag favourite to 15th in 3 years unless you make a few stuff ups. Let's own them, and correct then.

How do we all think we can make this trade (if true)? Sadly I think Papley might have to be traded for either North (8) or Carlton’s (9) pick to make this happen. Here's Morris with an 'exclusive'.Joe Daniher Sydney, Joe Daniher, AFL Trade Period 2019, AFL Trade Whispers, Lance Franklin, Essendon, Sydney Swans | FOX SPORTS
Essendon will undoubtedly ask for Pick 5. But would Pick 8/9 and our early second be enough to get it done?Comment

James Rose for the glamour boy. WE DO NOT NEED THIS GUY AND HE IS JUST GOING TO EAT SAKAEY CAO WE COULD USE FOR USEFUL PLAYERS WHO WILL ACTUALLY PLAY GAMES FOR @@@@S SAKE

Apparently this is Papley’s dad’s Twitter account in response to Tom Browne’s report
David Papley on Twitter: "Reportedly @TomBrowne7 is going to made accountable for his made up bull@@@@ journalism, you are an absolute flog… "Comment

If he has disappointment at Essendon's medical department he is going to be absolutely fuming at ours. Our blokes can't keep anyone on the park. Even having to retire several players because they @@@@@@ up.I wouldn't trust Browne to break an egg. But there does seem to be momentum for it.
This is interesting: AFL Trade Rumours on Twitter: "Joe Daniher is set to ask for a Trade to Sydney. Fox Footy understands Daniher’s primary motivation concerns his disappointment with Essendon’s medical department over several seasons, despite public denials.… https://t.co/dLhvxBFgEj".

Can't see how anyone can argue here. Yes Florent looks a likely type but Mitchell is hardly old too...

Bull@@@@. He is contracted until 2023. Let him play it out. Until his contract ends he is a Swans player. Otherwise the team that decides to POACH him should pay his contract at the Swans to the Swans. In other words $600,000/year. That would be how much? Four years let me see. $2.4 mil

Interesting slip up on the AFL live site
“The Saints are looking to bring in Fremantle's Bradley Hill, Port Adelaide's Paddy Ryder and St Kilda's Zak Jones and have met with Adelaide's Alex Keath.”
So it’s that obvious that Zak has gone he’s already being referred to as a Saints player ????Comment

So the story goes, who knows, it may not just be spin. But even if Jacinta was his number 1 reason for coming to Sydney, that factor clearly had no effect on the club cripplingly enormous mountain of money that Buddy and his agent extracted from the Swans.
Buddy and Tippett.together hoovered up almost a quarter of the salary cap. Leaving far less for other. . . .
A) Swans players, precipitating the departures of Swans players that then went on to achieve great things at other clubs.
B) Recruits. after the Bondi Billionairs there was no salary cap left to recruit anyone else. The AFL trade ban had no practical effect on the Swans recruiting whatsoever.Comment

I’m happy to agree to disagree. Firstly, we are not coming last next year. Not even your pessimist brain could seriously think that. We are likely to finish 9th to 12th at worst with our easier draw and developing list. That would mean pick 7 and 23 at worst. Daniher is definitely worth that risk. We also have access to Gulden and Campbell next year so we will still draft well next year without that first pick.Comment

My gut feeling is still this is a significant trade period for us
Probably the most significant we have seen for 5yrs and probably the most significant we will see the next 5yrs
We went after the 3 positions we felt we lacked in last season and settled with plan B which was interim solutions via Menzel, Thurlow and Clarke
We have massive experience out the door this season
We have cap space free
We have put game time into youth
We are ready !"be tough, only when it gets tough"
