Are we worried about Carlton next week?
    Carlton will flog us.

Me too. My dog ran from the room.
My opinion is objective truth in its purest form

When we have a guy like Kennedy 20m in the clear in the middle of the SCG kick it to a 3 on 1 in 2nd gamer Blakey then we have issues in the coaches box.
We have Blakeys kid now we should get rid if him and Horse

How can one team move it end to end with endless options and we cant hit a free target anywhere on the ground ???

        Game plan is dogsh8t

Clarke to the neafl and come back when he can get it 30 times regularly
COR to ireland, Kennelly was like a 4 leaf clover, COR had the distinction of breifly being the dumbest person at the SCG when he gave away 100m penalty

Mills and Heeney to the Midfield, dont worry about the holes it leaves instead let the other team worry about the grunt it creates.... sick of the negative footy
I thought the original 50 metre to be wrong.

Remember when we won 2005 Prelim, Roos sent Kirk to approach umpires at 3/4 time after we were getting hosed. Not Longmire's style and fair enough, but felt it was warranted tonight. Papley is an angry little man who may piss off the umpires but he gets crucified by them. Shades of Big Bad.

Double 50 was frustrating tonight and made a few bloopers, but we have to perservere for mine, as he has the ability to open the game up if he can find confidence at this level.

Clarke truly looked like a deer in headlights tonight - and I think he surely can't play next week. But we will need some patience with him.
Yes, can't make too many panicky team changes. As I tend to think that we have the basis of a good team, but we're just missing a bit of cohesion and confidence. A win or two, and we may get on a roll. Tonight, whenever the momentum started to swing towards us, a confidence sapping umpiring decision reared its ugly head.

Having said that, I only expect to see Clarke, when I tune in to the NEAFL.

Agree with the Melican comment - so much improved on last week’s effort

I thought the holding the ball free against McVeigh was the worst. He didn't even take possession of the ball in the first place. Not even close. Just pathetic umpiring. I think we need to start doing pre season trading with scumpires like Scumthorn did. It worked for them.

We need patience with a number of our under 24 players over the next 2 to 3 years. Experience will improve them. Painful but necessary.

Well that wasn’t great. Positives? Blakey. And rumours of Buddy’s decline would seem to be very much incorrect.

Umpiring...the only one that really got me was the touched Crows goal that they almost got away with. I *heard* the deflection from level 4 of the Noble. To everyone’s credit they kept protesting all the way back to the centre, with good booing all the way. Almost thought they would refuse to restart unless the review came.

Our mids are not fluid or gelling and we struggle to kick 10, that’s the basics of it. Could be a long season if they keep going like this.

The new 50 metre rule is an embarrassment. There was no problem with it. Hocking had to be seen to be doing something to justify his job and salary.

I see the poor umpiring as a positive. It shows that we are a better team than the score suggests.

We are at least a few years away from being premiership contenders, so why don't we just relax and see how the team develops.

Aliir, Melican, Thurlow and COR are haven't played much footy are probably the core of our defensive unit for the next half dozen years. The need a season or 2 or play together and learn to work as a unit.

Selection over the coming weeks should sort things out about our best 22 and who should play where. Mills should definitely play midfield. Dawson was't flash in round 1, but we should give him a string of games to build his confidence and get used to the pace of the game.

i think we'll improve as the season moves on, but I'm not expecting much in the games won column. i just want to see the team working better together, and looking more like a team than a bunch of footy player tossed onto an oval.

The first 50 was wrong. The subsequent 50 free was technically correct.

Yes, the umpires seem to sense the momentum change and just reel it back in and hand it back to the opposition....how many times do we see two goal turnarounds just as we're threatening? I'll say it a third time.....soul destroying.
