    Umpiring poor, yes.

But still too many passengers. I can't see how Clarke plays again (let alone next week). Nine possessions, I'd say most were net negative. His confidence is shot and he's hiding from the ball.

I don't really see what others do in O'Riordan. Seems a bit sloppy to me and not a great decision-maker.

Florent needs to be a lot better than that. Mills, Heeney and Hewett too. Those latter three should be running our midfield ultimately, but had 15, 16 and 16 disposals respectively.

Perhaps Rampe needs to play midfield. One of our better players and he needs to be more involved.

Positives: Kennedy, Parker, Aliir very good. McVeigh good. Buddy and Melican finding touch.

Ryan Clarke surely can’t be that bad.

Swans won possessions, contested possessions, clearances, inside 50s and lost by 4 goals. They were better than us.

Are we worried about Carlton next week?

I want to start seeing our Captains getting verbally aggressive towards the scumpires. History proves that this gets results.

There is absolutely no doubt that they are biased against us. I assume it because our fans have a less entrenched bias than the more traditional clubs/states and are therefore less intimidating.

We got quite a few bad calls but for most of the night it looked like Men V Boys. Josh played better and Paps had a crack but way too many passengers. Its time for Heeney, Mills, Hayward, Florent, Ronke, Hewitt ect to do more.

The commentators picked out around half a dozen umpiring clangers.

But I still think the game is passing us by personnel and game plan wise.
Yes, the plucking of the one against Papley had me screaming. But the one that really got me, was the non-decision when Reid was blatantly infringed, about twenty metres out. On the replay, there seemed to be three frees that could of been paid; but two nearby umpires couldn't spot any. I think it was there, that I realised that a comeback wasn't going to happen.

                  Umpiring disgraceful
                  Game plan just as bad
When we have a guy like Kennedy 20m in the clear in the middle of the SCG kick it to a 3 on 1 in 2nd gamer Blakey then we have issues in the coaches box.
We have Blakeys kid now we should get rid if him and Horse

How can one team move it end to end with endless options and we cant hit a free target anywhere on the ground ???

                  Game plan is dogsh8t

Clarke to the neafl and come back when he can get it 30 times regularly
COR to ireland, Kennelly was like a 4 leaf clover, COR had the distinction of breifly being the dumbest person at the SCG when he gave away 100m penalty

Mills and Heeney to the Midfield, dont worry about the holes it leaves instead let the other team worry about the grunt it creates.... sick of the negative footy

O Riordan will do well in a well functioning back line - the kid has talent. But he needs to be able to play a role not dissimilar to Kennelly of the half back sort of flank for mine, and we aren't in a position at the moment that will let him do that easily. Double 50 was frustrating tonight and made a few bloopers, but we have to perservere for mine, as he has the ability to open the game up if he can find confidence at this level.

Clarke truly looked like a deer in headlights tonight - and I think he surely can't play next week. But we will need some patience with him.

Well that is about as pathetic as it gets. Sure we were shafted by the umpires. They were so biased. I charge that Gillon McLachlan hates Sydney so much he has sent a memo to the umpires to @@@@ us over.

But let's be really Frank. We are @@@@e. We would not have won even if the umpiring was with us, we were @@@@. We missed easy tackles, @@@@@@ up really easy kicks and decided to go to Buddy every time we could. Why??????
We will never win a premiership with Buddy because we rely on him far too much.

Longmire your coaching is @@@@e. We will arrive at the mid season without a win. Carlton will flog us next week.

On the positive, our contested ball was much better after the first quarter. Buddy is back. Aliir is a star. Melican had an improved performance.

That, or maybe our coach should go and have a private coffee with Gillon the Eunuch to complain about things. Isn't that the way some clubs are able to do it?

Hmm. I'm not so sure. Harry Marsh had an above average NEAFL career, but he doesn't look to be that level. Somewhere between Hiscox and Foote.
